I'm playing with the 2.2 dev version.

Unlike X-com where in the aliens' phase the screen shows which soldiers are being fired upon, in this game it doesn't.

Bug?

Oh it does the same. There is a camera move from the shooter to the target before the shoot, but I think one of your soldiers has to see the attack (90

Yes, I just noticed this. But it's not as clear as X-com's. There are times that projectiles shoot through but you don't see where they went. (Were they shooting at civilians? Or your soldiers?)

ive noticed the same thing 2 of my soldiers died without me even knowing they got shot just showed message <name> has been killed
