console messages translation
« on: June 21, 2006, 05:07:27 am »
I kept translating UFOAI to japanese, but problem happened.
Translated console messages (eg. Can't perform action - not enough TUs!) is garbled display.

console messages can't allow translating to japanese?

console messages can't be translated at all. and they won't ever be translateable. the console is not important to play the game. but can be important for us to find bugs. if you get the error messages in a language we can't understand or even read - they won't lead to a bugfix.

Aren't those lines you get during tacitcal combat that tell you which team is moving part of the console message system, though?

right now - yes (some of them), but they will move to the message box below

there will be a sound that indicates the round change (already implemented, but sound is missing) and the cursor that indicates the change. the other messages like a panish soldier and so on will move to the panel after 2.0 final, too
