Map Build or Design issue

Current SVN, recently compiled maps in the April 26 2007 GTK 1.5, using the UFO2MAP currently available.

Stairways with space beneath them appear to be failing on all maps.  See below screenshots for examples.  farm08d and italy05d confirmed failures.  ALL stairways with 'gaps' below show this problem.  (Example, stairway on italy05 that goes up the sides, that doesn't have space under, work just fine).

As far as I can tell, the cause is the stepon brush (at least for one of the maps I looked at, farm08).  See below.

The stepon brush neither allows the character to walk high enough to reach the next level.  The other 'internal' stairway in the farmhouse shows a similar issue.

The internal stairway in Italy05d.map, however, does NOT show a similar problem.  However, the actorclip surrounding the stairway at the top is being ignored (allowing you to step through it and fall to the lower level).  It also has a similar problem as shown in the screenshots above of not allowing you to walk back up.

Will re-tortoise and test the new one... not looking forward to recompiling the entire map folder... :)

http://mattn.ninex.info/download/ufoai-2.2-dev-mappack.tar.bz2

you can use the mappack ;-)

I wish I could. :)

The file comes down as ufoai-2.2-dev-mappack.tar.tar.  Headers don't work with winzip.

Renaming to .tar.bz2 becomes unrecognized.

Please advise.

EDIT: Solinar recommended 7zip.  Took a little getting used to but got it where it needed to be.

I can recommed seven zip.

free software, copes with any compressed file i have ever come across, its own compression format (*.7z) acheives the best compression i have seen.

It might be windows only...

Oops, just read your edit...

ah well, the URL here might be handy for someone

I use Total Commander for all my file operations, including packing. Unfortunately it doesn't support 7-zip, and the 7-zip author didn't want to make a TC plugin. So I usually just stick to rar, zip and tar, depending on my purpose.
