Is there a way to get rid of soldiers in the recruit area?

I've got a bunch of fairly poor characters hanging out there that are preventing me from getting good recruits now that I'm doing pretty good in the campaign.

Is there anyway to get rid of them short of taking them on a mission and killing them?

you can unhire them and hire the better ones... or did i get you wrong?

I think he means completely remove them from the hiring/sacking menu. I wouldn't mind having such an option either(like for people with speed in the teens.)

Actually, there is a feature I didn't realize. Scroll :-)
I thought that the characters on the first screen were the only ones available. When I realized that I had more (and better) characters on the next screen the problem went away.

Now it's actually not so bad to have those extra guys. Good cannon fodder.

Maybe characters not hired for, let's say, six months, should be removed from the list at all?

It'd be even better if the player could dismiss candidates at will.

You can use the mouse wheel I think. But it only seems to work in the recruiting area. I noticed that you can't scroll when you want to equip your craft:

I had a bunch of bad soldiers and then really good ones right at the end of the list. Of course I wanted to put the good soldiers on board of my drop ship but they were off the page and I couldn't scroll down. So I had to sack many of the bad ones so the better ones fit on the screen again.

However, overall this is promising to be an amazing game! It's already a great deal of fun and I can't wait for the next version to come out! Thumbs up for everyone involved!

hmmm, I play on my laptop and I have no wheel.

Any alternative way to scroll ?
