incomplete data.tar
« on: March 08, 2014, 11:47:28 am »
Hello,
the data.tar (at sourceforge) for 2.4 is incomplete, resulting in lots of placeholders in the wiki and intro (see attached screenshot). Please fix this, thanks.

The data package is complete. BUT the language files are not the part of of it.

You can find the po source files in the sourcecode package. Compile them via make lang and copy the i18n directory created in the base directory next to the pk3-s.

It could be related to this.

(I think I saw somewhere that it also related to 2.4)

If you have the game set to English, it could be the issue Grug linked. Did you give it a try?

I launched the game with "ufo +set fs_i18ndir /usr/share/locale", but I still see only the placeholders.

Check which are the "gamedir" -s in your ufoconsole.log and make sure the mo files you have are the right (up-to-date) ones.

I can't find no such "gamedir" var in my log (see attachment).

I posted my en.mo already (see above), which was build with this install/download. I have no clue how, I should get an "up-to-date" one.

My fault, the "Using game dir" lines don't get written into the log before they happen before the log is opened. You can see them if you start the game from command line. "Gamedirs" are the directories the game looking for contents.

Ok, if you built and installed the languagefiles from the source package then they should be the right version. I asked because you wrote "I have mo files" not "I've installed" so I couldn't be sure that you built them or having some old versions from previous installation.
