« on: January 03, 2014, 11:20:51 am »
Hello
I'm a newbie here, advance sorry for my english
I have seen http://ufoai.org/forum/index.php/topic,4948.0.html
and http://ufoai.org/wiki/Proposals#Campaign
and http://ufoai.org/wiki/Proposals/Ironman
that's why I created this topic
I think this mod Very important to this game, because it is realy hardcore and reason to play for some people (including me)
Please, make it in 2.5

Hi,

Of course there is and thank you for your suggestion. I have to admit though that Ironman mode will probably not make it into 2.5 because even if it sounds easy it needs some work and 2.5 is already in bugfixing and stabilizing stage.

I'll try to take a look on that when polishing 2.5.0 finished maybe we could add it in a 2.5.1... Who knows!? :)

I think the idea is to wait until 2.5.0 is released before thinking about trying to add this to 2.5.1. You'll just have to be patient.

what's your problem?
just ... don't load old saves? you don't need to be forced to 'play fair' as it is described in those articles to simply not load a game again.
also why call this ironman? there is tons of better names that describes it better. first i though that would be some kind of: only-have-one-solider-mode.

When there is an opportunity to load the old save game, or make a backup - a very different attitude when the game automatically restricts you

Ironman mode would be awesome, but maybe it could have like unlimited game (to se how much you can survive-no end). Also lesser funding (so you have to craft and sell stuff to keep on going)
