Missing Shevars (sheevars?)

I don't know if this is a bug but I've yet to see a Shevar. If memory serves, that alien race made an early appearance in my last tries with UFO: AI some two years or so back.

I've already researched

UFO Fighter
Antimatter
Heavy Laser

I also have three bases making this my longest playthrough with the game.

I saw a bloodspider once but since then, those robotic monstrosities have yet to make another appearance. I'm using Muton's latest 2.3.x build (the one with a functioning RF system).

Sheevars not missing, just players are impatient.

btw 2.3.x is old (not that 2.4-dev has Sheevars earier)

Whoa. Chill dude. Had a hard day? I was just wondering.

Anyway, the last playthroughs were also w v2.3.x builds so I'm guessing that maybe something changed in the version I'm playing.

Ah. No problem mate.

Anyway, going back: I'm 3000% sure this playthrough is at least 3x longer than my previous ones and still no Shevars. Also no coil guns.

I'll post a screenshot of my Research UI in the next few days (got hit by a flood; no internet connection at home at the moment); will give you a rough idea where I am in the game's tech tree.

The second line is what confuses me. This is by far, the longest playthrough I've made and I've only seen bloodspiders, ortnoks, and tamans. Maybe Muton altered something?

Geever, I am now into Alien Sign Language and have captured my first needler guns. Still no Shevaars. Is this normal?

What`s telling debug_show_interest command? (Or something like that, try to search via auto completion)

How do you go about doing that? I'm not a programmer. :( Sorry.

Would it help if I somehow determine the exact version of the build I'm playing? If so, how do I do that?
