I just downloaded 2.3.  It crashes when I get to the New Campaign screen, so this thread seems to ask the same question.  What happened and how to I fix it?

One problem is that I am unfamiliar with changing configs, etc. I be old and did not learn computerese.  What can I do to find out how to fix this or should I wait until there's a patch?

Thanks.

Forgot to add. 2.2 worked on my computer.

Thanks again.

In the post before there were tons of shader errors. You can try disabling GLSL shaders by running the game as
Code: [Select]
ufo +set r_programs 0

-geever

Thanks, I think.  Except, after I install the game, when do I do that and how.  I'm not good at coding. I usually am limited to very basic things like downloading, installing, and hitting "go."

Sorry for being a noob.

you have to open a cmd, then type your path to the game, add the paramters to the path. press enter.

after the first start of the game, you can start the game normal ;)

omg :D my english :D

you have to open a cmd, then type your path to the game, add the paramters to the path. press enter.

Or you can add the parameter to your shortcut (right click - properties and type the parameter after the target) if you are using Windows that is, I've never need to do this in Linux but there should be a way too
