30635 can not do "make pk3" (ubuntu specific?)

I'm trying to run "make pk3" after removing pk3 files.

i get a shell error saying "the list of arguments is too long" when making the pk3 archive containing the textures.

i'm still under ubuntu 10.04 (gnome/32bits).

Had to edit the title for better recognition. Making pk3 is not really 'compiling'.

It's funny though, as argument list limits should have been a thing of the past. Anyway.
