Freezes at startup game

Upon launching the game appears as a process of loading and so hangs.
K10/2Gb/GF7900GS/Win_xpSP3/r30500-30700.

I have a similar problem.

The game process appears in the process list but no I/O bytes reading/writing change, the memory use stays constant and only the CPU load is changing. On click I get the "not responding" message.

With five times once in Safe Mode could turn, but then hung on the intro.

after update of the video driver to the latest the game is now running so ...follow the rules guys always use the latest drivers ...

I do also recently updated the video driver to ver257.21(gf7900gs)

Replacing the old video driver (197.45) did not help.

No, I can't run the game!..

Same here, couldnt start game, it actually shows loading bar, then stops with two green bars in middle of screen. Startup music plays. But I wont get past of green bar screen -- I want to know, could I run UFO or my video is too oldie:P

I used stable UFOAI 2.3 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ufoai/files/UFO_AI%202.x/2.3/ufoai-2.3-win32.exe/download)

Dell Latitude C400 (PIII 866 MHz, 768 Mb RAM, integrated Intel 80830M 64 Mb video, Intel 830M chipset)

Log shows that I have 0 Mb video memory, I wonder could I run UFO at all.

EDIT: It's not actually freeze, the green bars are the first things that game shows -- music and sound volume bars. And language selection.
But the green bars are all that game shows, all else is black...cursor is invisible too...

EDIT 2: Seems that my problem lies in UFO:AI v2.3, because 2.2 works in first attempt!

Edit 3: What is needed to turn off, to use same graphic settings like in 2.2 ? Then I can try turn settings on, one by one....or just safe mode turns all graphic features off?

Edit 4: Its my last post in this topic: UFOAI 2.3-dev-25862 works, so i can play it with my 82830 intel integrated graphic laptop

I'm having the same exact problem with the above post by ojaperv, all the symptoms are the same. The only difference is I have a faster running hp. I'll just add that I've tried to run the game in safe mode with the same results. Can anyone give us some support?
