Items on ground not shown for multiple bodies
« on: January 31, 2010, 04:13:36 am »
Firstly: Hi!

I was tooling around in Mutton's latest build, ufoai-2.3-dev-28338. I had a soldier chcecking out a corpse of a downed alien. They were carrying a nice looking plasma rifle but the soldier didn't have enough TUs to pick it up. During the alien turn they were killed. When I got a second soldier to the spot now containing both bodies the ground inventory was empty.

Hope this isn't already known/documented, I did search the forums but didn't see this issue raised.

I appreciate this isn't much to go on. Are there console commands I can use to instantly spawn and kill actors? If so I can try stacking them up and see if this is reproducible or was just a one off.

I know there are debug commands to kill or stun a whole team, but don't recall if there are for individual units.

Another way is how the game lets you shoot dead your own units - you could, as a test, put one unit on top of a dead one and shoot at it with another soldier.

Nice lateral thinking! I've tried killing my own guys but this doesn't cause it. Likewise, I've tried killing a soldier standing on an alien's body but it doesn't happen then either. I'm trying to engineer a situation where an alien kills a soldier standing on an alien body, which is what caused this the first time but it's proving harder than it seems.
