Sourceforge Download links all down???
« on: July 26, 2009, 02:33:16 am »
Hi,

I was pointed to this game via a post on Gamesquad and was intrigued enough to check it out. I never played the original X-Com back when it was a hot commodity and always regretted missing it. This iteration looks like a lot of fun and right up my alley...but..

All of the download links on Sourceforge appear to be dead and it appears to be impossible for newbies to get the game. I'm most interested in the win32.exe version.

Any help appreciated.

As far as I'm aware this is a known temporary issue.

Forum member Odie uploaded the old 2.2.1 for Windows to a website file-hosting service and linked to it in one of the other threads.

Edit: Here, try this, third post down:

Mattn,

I believe its a ownership-only ticket, which most of us who are not the project's team members cannot see.

download links should be fixed now

Mattn,

When trying to get the windows default version, here's the error:

The "UFO_AI 2.x/2.2.1/ufoai-2.2.1-win32.exe" file could not be found or is not available. Please select another file.

I was using direct link :
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/ufoai/UFO_AI%202.x/2.2.1/ufoai-2.2.1-win32.exe?use_mirror=biznetnetworks

Its accessed via the mainpage...

Maybe its not fixed still?

Yes, I had to d/l and install the Nakido flag thing temporarily but apart from that it went fine.
I've been having fun with the game so far. Still learning the basics. Nice job.

:D Glad that u have been having fun! Have more fun ok?! Hahhahaa.....

Btw, u do not have to keep nakido flag active once u r done uploading (u can choose to delete from your TSR). U need to onli reload it when uploading / downloading stuff from nakido. Toodles!
