Missing interceptors
« on: March 01, 2009, 07:13:56 am »
I know I'm a noob, well to 2.2.1, I did play a loong time ago, but my question is I have multiple bases and when I get a pilot at base#2 for example, then get a stilleto, add cannon, missile rack, armor, and targeting all seems well until a ufo shows up. I pull up the menu for ships only my firebird comes up. What am I doing wrong?

Are you playing version 2.2.1 or 2.3 version? I dont recall that in 2.2.1 pilots were needed for interceptors.

2.2.1 version and also 2.3 point release bugs are not to be reported anymore. Only on bugs in development edition or really new point releases (some weeks) can be fixed because since 2.2.1 code has been heavily reworked. Exact code revision number would be most helpful.

The ufo is probably too far away for the stiletto.

Sounds like you don't have enough ammo to arm your weapons - if you have no ammo the craft doesn't show up in the menu when you try to intercept a UFO

afair there is a feature request to improve the intercept popup to show all aircrafts (sorted by range/availability). There are some thoughts how to show these, but so little time...

And few people who actually put their money where their mouths are (as in, contribute).

Good idea. Would prevent a lot of newbie questions ;)
I hope you find the time...
