Hello,

I just downloaded the latest SVN and compiled for windows.  Successfully installed but when I run, it crashes out.

I tried searching on these forums and google for suggestions to no avail.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

The game cannot find the data files (pk3 packs or files they contain.)

What could cause that?  I have installed it with defaults.

there are just pk3 files missing.

I pointed tortoise to https://ufoai.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/ufoai/ufoai/trunk and checked out everything.  i built the workspace, compiled the maps, language files and nsis script to create the installer.

I have 8 pk3 files totalling 348 mb installed on my game pc.  The installer is  370 mb.  The contents of the src\base folder on my build machine 1.53 gb (not counting the pk3 files).

I'm going to try to do another checkout...

Note that you don't have to build the NSIS installer unless you want to distribute your build. If all you want to do is run the game you only need to SVN checkout -> setup compiling environment -> compile. There's no need to build the archives either.

I'm compiling on a vm isolated from the host os so I don't clutter it with every tool, and app I download off the web.  I need to create the installer to install on the host OS as I cannot get 3d acceleration to work on VMWare.  I'll try to recompile with the updated source.

Even then you shouldn't need to build an installer. You can just download the program directory. Admittedly, that leaves you with a LOT more data than by building the installer, as you'll also copy the .svn directories. Could be worth a try though.

Ok, so after rebuilding I have a new pk3 (pics).  Now I'm crashing at every step, so I might just submit some bugs and try a stable release.
