How do you think im building up the diff patch
or a full build?

Remember
your suggegstion will make also Destructavator build obsolete
'couse everyone can build Ufoai
but not everyone want to spend h or d to do so.

Also think about
i'm unable to store a ufoai build on a stick
and share it with someone in asia or australia.

btw.
The diff patch does nothing else than to deliver only those files that are different from the last full build
There is no difference between a full build after applying the patch
only that people need to download <70MB

That whole discussion about the patch is absurd
No one would reinstall his OS 'couse of a ServicePack

Yes, i agree. In fact i rebuild my SVN everyday now, once i got it to work last nite. Today just, i rebuilt 21950. Lol. Thats why if someone can upload it, its good. Aniwae, this is developers' stuff, not for the averagers. If they want, i thnk we would agree we prefer them download the stable release (2.2 as of now).

Eh? Whats this abt OS? SP? The patches are nothing about OS stuff.... its abt patching the UFOAI i hope thats what u meant......? Its too complicating and ties down the developers. I thnk if they are fanatic enough, they would learn SVN like Destructavator and me, and well..... compile and start giving bugs feedback.

:)

Sorry this came late, I uploaded it last night and forgot to drop by the forum and link to it.  (So it is probably a tad out-of-date with the SVN.)

I only tested it for about a couple minutes, and it runs, or at least it did for me.

I only found one bug, with the scroll wheel on the mouse causing strange messages to appear on the battlescape when zooming in and out.  If this bug hasn't already been fixed in SVN, I'll try next time to make a note of the messages and use the bug tracker.  The bug doesn't crash the game or anything though, its just strange and slightly irritating.

I think that this is a problem that has already been reported. The fix is to delete one of your .cfg files (I think keys.cfg). An earlier revision caused the problem with the existing .cfg file.

Yupz, i already reported this earlier.
Dun worry abt it, juz goto your saved game directory and delete your keys.cfg.

It should resolve that issue temporary - i.e. a current workaround. :)

Not just temporary. ;)

It's only that old cfg incompatible with the new features.

FYI everyone: I actually built a new installer today, but I didn't upload it because it looks like the menus are under some heavy-duty work right now (things are broken at the moment).

Still, for those who don't use SVN and rely on these links for convenience, I've attached a screenshot instead this time so you can have some idea of what the new menu interface is turning into.

Oh Destructavator,

Have u noticed that the compiler is now so much smaller? 400 MB only! I thnk they have seriously axed some models and graphics to make it so much more efficient. :)

Cant wait to try out this new R22142 over the wkend. :)

Hi!

I'm having some problem compiling the source. I tried following the how-to on the wiki pages but it would seem that "ld" has some problem creating the game.dll - partial log follows:

...
Compiling: ..\..\src\game\lua\lundump.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\game\lua\lvm.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\game\lua\lzio.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\game\lua\print.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\game\q_shared.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\shared\infostring.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\shared\mathlib.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\shared\parse.c
Compiling: ..\..\src\shared\shared.c
Linking dynamic library: ..\..\base\game.dll
ld: dllcrt2.o: No such file: No such file or directory
Process terminated with status 1 (0 minutes, 8 seconds)
0 errors, 0 warnings

The folder containing the dllcrt2.o is in the linker search directories.
When I use a command prompt and type in either ld or dllcrt2.o they both are found (that is, they are also on the path). I would compile it on linux if only I could use my wireless there - but I can't so I'm stuck with Vista.

Thanks!

This one seems at least partially playable.

Can you please be more specific about what errors/problems you have?

Hmmm, I recall once having the exact same problem myself, although I don't remember what I did to fix it, except I know its very fixable...  Which codeblocks package did you grab to compile the game?
