Woohoo! Thanks man!  ;D

EDIT: I gave this a while and WOOOT! Reaction fire is back! Thanks Muton!

I'll give UFO: AI a while once the game development phase I've embroiled myself in is finished. Can't wait to give this game a review.  ;D

Is it normal that game is stuck to my OS language [WinXP polish] even when i change it to english in options?

There's a simple work around for the language prob posted in one thread somewhere. Just go into the folder UFOAI-2.4-dev\base\i18n then move all folders of language files but not "en" to another location or folder. The game will then use what's left, which is the english language files under "en". Works for me.

You're looking at it. Muton's latest compilation has reaction fire. (I played a round of SP skirmish and all my people fired on the aliens' turns whenever one walked across their fields of vision.) I haven't played the campaign again though. I'll check it out this night or tomorrow.

Install over your current installation

This game is awesome. I have so much respect for the talent and time that the developers have put into this.

I have been playing 2.3 stable on Windows for several weeks and encountered some bugs, before I reported them I wanted to try them out in the latest version of 2.3 to see if they have already been fixed, but I am having difficulty getting my old saved games to work.

I have probably done something stupid and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

This is what I did...
I copied my .savx files to another directory and installed this update using the full installer above and installed to the game directory I had used before.
But when I started the game I got an error message about running 2 different versions it said the version of the scripts did not match (sorry I did not note the exact error message). So I then uninstalled the game, checked the game directory had been deleted and installed from scratch. I started a new campaign, saved and exited so I could see exactly which folder is being used for save games. I copied one of my old save games into the new directory but most of my game is missing. I have bases but no aircraft, no employees, no money, and I cannot advance the time.

Please help

In case it is relevant the bugs I was experiencing were 1) I could no longer transfer anything between bases 2) I had more than 64 aircraft and the last ones on the list seemed to disappear. I had got to about 1100 UFOs and 650 missions done.

Grufff if you haven't noticed this is the

thread. The community launched this for build updates (and minor questions about the individual builds). For full-blown queries and stuff, I would suggest you post in the bugs section. More people can help you there as the devs don't frequent this thread as often as the one dedicated to game issues.

Regarding this query:

Muton already clearly stated that:

Quote
Will update any installer >= 30387
ufoai-2.3-Update-30387-to-1288002986-Debug-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe

The above implies that it's an update for v2.3. It's an update file so yes, it updates 2.3. 0_0 If you're referring to your old save games, I've been using Muton's patch and so far the updates are compatible. Don't take my word for it though --- what might have worked for me may not for you.

Here's one for 2.4, although I didn't have time to test it:

http://www.destructavator.com/ufoai/ufoai-2.4-dev-1298946421-Debug-full-win32.exe

Please note the download is just under ~900 MB in size, it is a full, complete build with no special optimizations or modifications, built nearly the same as a release would be except compiled with "debug" build target.
(It will therefore run a tad slower than an official release, but will be easier to find and report bugs with.)
