Thanks Destructavator.

I'm holding out until the community can make a 2.3 with the reaction fire feature fixed. Presently it feels too much like I'm playing half of what UFO AI used to be without RF. (Though I haven't played for weeks now. Has it been fixed?)

RF seems good in last Destructavator Beta 2.4 posted build... but there is a WEIRD bug in the geoscape... whenever an UFO turn to attack your ship (like Fighter UFOs) it hangs on the "collision" between objects (ship+ufo) while in battle... the geoscape freezes.. but still can press ESC button and load / save / exit the game...

Another issue -> TOOOOOO MANY Ufos in the 1st part of the game... not a single day of peace!  ;D let em grow while time passes... not all at once!  ;)

Appreciated the "new" skill point assignment on soldier... finally CAPABLE soldiers

And another little problem... if i shoot aimed with a sniper rifle and have 99% to hit... i cannot miss 2 shoots in a row! That's not good  ::) something is wrong...

Anyway GREAT game... keep it growing...

I'd suggest opening bug reports for these, either the tracker or posting in the section of the forum for bugs, as these points might not get noticed if you leave them here (This thread is primarily for posting links, not for bugs).

Regarding the number of UFO sightings at the start of the game, I'd recommend posting in Discussion or Design to talk to the coders about it.

Welcome to the forum, BTW.

I was out for a while myself, so I'm not sure, but I recall some talk about it in the IRC logs.

I was actually working on getting one together in the next few days, but right now I have to get ready for the "big one":

Game only, no Radiant, no sources
W2k support (Windows 2000)
no Admin right needed to install and uninstall

Full installer
ufoai-2.4-dev-1288676501-Debug-7z-small-win32.exe

I'm using the unix time stamp to mark a release instead of the sha1 git hashsum
In this case 1288676501
Add this in your bugreport and post there

For coders:
git log --since="1288676501" --until="1288676501"
will reveal the last commit this build is based on

More information will be output at different times. Maybe other stuff, but that's what I have seen.

Just tried to install that two times - failed both times because the installation stopped at some point giving a "not enough free space on the harddisc" error. But the disc I tried had 10 GB free, isn't this enough?

Or is it a prob that I still have the 2.3 release installed at the same disc?

All under Win XP if that plays a role.

Edit: ahh, got it to work. Apparently the prob was that the installation uses C: a lot. While I was installing to another drive with more than enough free space, C: had to be cleaned for the installation to run properly.

Is it normal that game is stuck to my OS language [WinXP polish] even when i change it to english in options?
And i seem to have no  visible radar ranges in geoskape. But the wierdest part is that if i load savegame from 2.3 version those radar ranges show up.
