Will update any installer >= 30387
ufoai-2.3-dev-Update-30387-to-30445-Debug-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe
ufoai-2.3-dev-Update-30387-to-30445-Release-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe

You can install release or debug, even switch from debug to release or vis-versa

Thanks for the update :)

Just to note, but there seems to be an issue when I try to install to a secondary drive, with either of the installs. Failure to load .pk3 files, but it seems to work fine for C:/

Post a tracker item of this along with ufoconsole.log and an accurate description of your setup, including what hard drives you're using for what, where you try to install etc.

Default directory, only within the D:/
the windows cmd window opens saying
"The system cannot find the file specified.
The system cannot find the path specified.
Press any key to continue..."
and it looks like the file its trying to load is "C:\DOCUME~1\<user>\LOCALS~1\Temp\makepk3_full.cmd" "pk3.7z"

im updated my game on harddrive D:\ without any problems... which OS you using?
XP SP3

EDIT: the problem is that I was trying to do a fresh install, rather than update

Game only, no Radiant, no sources
W2k support (Windows 2000)
no Admin right needed to install and uninstall

ufoai-2.3-dev-30387-Debug-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe

Will update any installer >= 30387
ufoai-2.3-Update-30387-to-30505-Debug-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe
ufoai-2.3-Update-30387-to-30507-Release-pentium3-O1-sse-7z-small-win32.exe

You can install release or debug, even switch from debug to release or vis-versa

Watch out its not a dev release anymore
choose the right installpath!

@vedrit
D:/
dont install in your rootfolder D:\
the uninstaller will wipe the whole disk!

The uninstaller will
rd /S /Q <install_dir>
If this is D:\ or C:\
everything will be deleted
like
rm -rf /

Its not a bug and no feature
Function .onVerifyInstDir need to be extended to prevent installs on D:\ or F:\ ...
not only C:\

The default installpath has changed its not UFOAI-2.3-dev anymore
UFOAI-2.3 is the default now
Its important to point the update install routine to your install folder
which will be UFOAI-2.3-dev most likely
Its just a hint (if this bother you)

What kind of uninstaller can be that stupid??! If your does, please change it ASAP.

I don't like the idea sharing links to such dangerous programs...

make a quick test

You are only able to install into the root directory if you use
M:\1\..
or similar
The uninstaller will not work in such a case
"error launching installer"

The worst thing that can happen is to install at D:\program files
and call the uninstaller
To prevent this
we need to use a log file and delete only those files we copied
like the firefox installer

i think its not a big deal until long the uninstaller only deleted the folder from the game...
worst case is only C:\Windows folder :D
only retards would put it into directories like that.

of course it could be critital for really brainless people who put it anywhere with other files...
but that is easy to fix i think... just get sure that the installer create by default a Ufo Ai folder as subfolder.
