hasn't the problem with grey geoscape fixed yet?
« on: June 30, 2008, 04:08:24 pm »
I use 2.2 ver. and my laptop's graphic card is intel(r) 82852/82855 GM/GME (it's just a motherboard chipset)

I browsed the problems and answers with graphic.... but I can't find out the solution

When I start the game, the geoscape turns out like just a grey ball

Wow, what a beautiful earth....

if I uncheck the 3D option, geoscape turns out blank.

it just appears white out.

I attached the screenshot too. I hope it works.

Is there anyone can fix it?

Possible solutions:

try enabling texture compression

try 2.2.1 that's the latest stable.

Also many things has been changed in the current development version. You may want to try a beta package http://mattn.ninex.info/?page=Download .

Btw, I read there were problems with intel "cards". To tell you the truth they are not designed for gaming.

hmmm....

Thanx for your reply. I appreciate it.

Maybe the "card" could be the problem....

anyway thanks. now all I can do is just play X-com 2, 3 again..........

Hang on, I had this problem, and I'm pretty sure I found a start of game fix. It only worked until you quit. gimme a second.

Further investigation says no. My problem (Fixed now, 8600gt) was the geoscape having random skins on it. still, try my fix for that, it was because of crappy onboard.

Change whatever settings you like, but at the end of it, toggle fullscreen (Wether off or on) then change it back (Assuming you had it on what you wanted)

No idea why, but this fixed it for me, as long as I dont change a setting afterwards (Just do it again)

Also intel onboard chipset btw.
