Broken models --- help!

I need your help, guys.

Some models, e.g. stun rod (base/models/weapons/stunrod), stun grenade, incendiary grenade and flare are broken. E.g. the stun rod is made of some loose triangles and has many holes in it, but looks quite intricate, anyway. They also usually do not fit into the Ufopedia (the best way to see them is for me rotating them by dragging in the Ufopedia after typing research_all on the console).

Is it the bug in the engine, model conversion tools or original models? How to repair them?

I dont find any bugs in 3DMax, Maya, Deep Exploration. Its engine problem, maybe.
How do you rotate them in the Ufopedia?

By dragging with the mouse. Could anybody please report the models are broken for them? This is most visible for me with the stunrod in the Ufopedia, after you type research_all in the console (~).

P.S. SVN trunk, but it's been that way for some time...

P.S.S. Or could you please try the same models (move them manually somewhere) in any older versions of UFO:AI? E.g. substitute for the Assault Rifle in x-mas release...

Wow. That was tough. :)

Could you perhaps send the several models I mentioned to the Sourceforge UFO:AI patches section? Can be one entry "Broken models patched by De_Nis" and attach several files using the buttons below. I will check if they work for me, comment and Mattn can put them into SVN over the weekend...

Good work, De_Nis. I've made some checks and I hope now we have no more broken models in the whole game. The broken ones were over 10 times bigger than those corrected!

We have, like, 10 missing models for 2.0, but smoke grenade is a) not in 2.0, b) has a model. :>

Get recent trunk and the messages about smoke grenade should disappear...

BTW, we really need those 10 models (most of them very small and simple). They are listed on the wiki in TODO for 2.0.

Ha! I was wrong --- one more model is broken: ufoai/base/models/weapons/grenl/grenl_clip2.md2.

Four are already fixed by De_Nis. That was some conversion problem. Several models to be build from scratch are on the wiki in Version 2.0 section of TODO:

P.S. apart of the grenl_clip2.md2, possibley also /objects/alien/battery/battery.md2 is broken (but I'm not sure it may just be large) and /objects/alien/seat, /objects/furniture/computer, /objects/furniture/trashcan, /objects/vegi/bush, /objects/vegi/cactus, /objects/vegi/chestnut, /objects/vegi/palm2, /objects/vegi/palm3, /objects/vegi/tropic, /aircraft/ufo_small, /aircraft/ufo_big. Generally, broken models have lots of holes and loose triangles in them.

This time I'm paranoid, not to miss anything...

P.S. Try to check models taken directly from SVN, or from recent builds, I guess RC2 should be recent enough.
