Problem starting in OpenSUSE 10.3

(1/1)

Stormcloud:
Hello!
I've downloaded the Game with Yast, all packages I've found.
Now, on my Start Menue there is only a entry in Games --> Tactical with Ufo:AI (dedicated server).
If I start with this button, there would open a console with settings for the server, but not the game in Single-Player Mode.

What is wrong? Have I made a mistake?

(Sorry for the bad english, I'm no native speaker)

BTAxis:
The dedicated server only hosts a server for people to connect to with their clients. You don't need it to play the singleplayer game. Look for a binary called ufo.

Stormcloud:
Ok, thank you!

Hm, I'm a Linux newbie and learn in german :-)
Is a binary what I must install or is ist installed and I must search for it?

Mattn:
i can't really help you with anything suse related - it depends on the packager - but there should be a ufo binary somewhere in your path - just open a console and type ufo - or have a look which script or binary your menu shortcut executes

Stormcloud:
Good evening!
I've found the problem with your hints. Yast downloaded the game from packman repositories, not from the link, you wrote in the manual.

Now, I can start the game and change the settings. Hopefully it would work.
I loved the old UFO in DOS-times. Your UFO is the best open-source game. thanks a lot for that remake!!
