I compiler the game

Problem

The geoscape absent of texture, totally black.
I see only base, spaceship, names (strings) and lines, but draw countrys I not see.

I believe that the image below can say everything:

please try to activate r_checkerror cvar via game console (set it to 1) and check whether there is any error output on the console

Same trouble on Windows XP. I've tried to turn on r_checkerror in console, but there was no error messages.

Checked changing the variable r_checkerror to 1, but that was returning as error was precisely the following:

R_FindImage: Can't find models/geoscape//base (models/geoscape//base) - file: src/renderer/r_model.c, line 201

I tried to withdraw this // which is presented in models/geoscape//base, but neither found that location in the civil R_FindImage.

Where I could edit to change the location of that texture?

It seems to be corrected by update to ufoai-2.2.1-2.lvn9.i386

I have a problem like that on the 2.3 dev.

When i rotate very fast the earth (when i use the control (with a long click, and maybe a mouse move too) to move the earth on the right pannel)

You can't see a darned thing at night in the 3D view.

Should I also complain about the night missions?

Lots of people have that problem. I set the lighting values, but it really looks fine for me. I have no idea why it's black for so many others.
This is what the bunker map looks for me at night.

I noticed that the lightsources on the former industrial.map called the light entity with "_light" instead of "light". Maybe there are the problems.

No, it's something with rendering. This problem occurs with the same map on different systems (I had someone send me their compiled map over and it was fine for me).

Night missions looks ok to me (ie it's dark as it should be @night, but you can see something) Anyway, nightvision googles or some flares implemented still would be more than welcome. I think something like nv gogles in syndicate wars would be good enough..

As a sidenote sometimes shot down ufo missions get their daytime messed up. I've landed in the middle of the day to find myself in night mission. I'll make separate post when it happend next time.

I've had difficulty with night missions myself, as the dark areas are totally black for me, at least on Windows with my NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE video card in my desktop.  I don't know if the video card or OS makes any difference, although I haven't played around with the settings in the NVIDIA control panel much.  Actually, I just might try that within the next few days - If it makes any difference I'll post some feedback.

Yah definately let us know if you find a setting that helps, I stop dropships and let them hover rather than fight at night because at the moment the maps are almost pitch black, I can barely make out the terrain and buildings, let alone find any windows or doors :) (And damn I hate it when I get a mission in antarctica, a pox on 6 months of darkness) :P

Yeah, this issue definitely needs addressing, so it'd be nice if we could get more info on it, any info at all.
