No hardware acceleration detected

I wondered if someone may help me get started on this game.

I am running XP home on a AMD 4800 with 2Gb Ram and a 2600XT card (latest ati drivers installed), although the game doesn't appear to recognise the card.

I did searchs on key phrases but only turned up Vista issues which don't apply to me.

Help greatly appreciated guys and gals.
