looks very cool, too - but for alien aircraft we should wait for winters or btaxis' response

nice job again - you are fast with new models ;-)

Modeling is no much work with low poly, I have very good software for it.
Most of the work is skinning, especially when it must have much detail.

I am not an artist, so still a lot to learn for me. :)

Hmm, it's not really in keeping with our UFO style (see the Gallery on the homepage for pictures), but it looks like it would be good for a human-built craft with alien technology in it.

Would you mind if I made some changes to the model, and then gave it back to you for texturing? That way we'd end up with a more unified style.

If it's okay, could you send the model to me/post it here in .obj or .3ds format?

Thanks!

Regards,
Winter

OK Here the link, there is one in .obj and one in .3ds

Sitters do you have any experience in animating humanoid models? I know you do not like it but a new alien model or more soldier animations would be really nice. So I'm just asking, I know it's not your hobby.

...and the van is cool as always :)

I am using Cinema4D and photo shop for all my model work, UV mapping , skinning also this software has very good stuff for animation, but it is working with scripts and that kind of stuff and is already prepared, like walking running etc.
But can not be used with md2 models.

Animation for md2 models, i must do  with characterFX.
And that is boring and mind killing work. :(

Making an bone structure, animating frame for frame, a lot of work.
I only used it for mapping when I need models that must be interactive in the game ( like doors, machines etc. ).

That is enough for me, making an character with 35 frames I'd going to puke.  ):O

I export in .obj

For converting to Md2, I use milkshape3D, and to attach the skin I am using QME or MDL.

Willem.

Edit :

Here I have an tree.

Hmm a motorbike lying on the ground would be nice. Also, if you can make skins for humans - pilots, soldiers, etc. are needed (devs - please give him some more details on that ;) ). Or a tank / helicopter... (though I think Winterslice should suggest the type of the tank/heli).

Peace.

I can make a lot , but I must know the stile you like.
What I like don't always likes another, and of course it is limited by the poly's.

I can make an simple helicopter or it can be an Apache heavy fighter, If you know what I mean. :)

Please don't take this the wrong way, but in a game set in the 2080s, why do all the vehicles look like they're from the 1980s? ;)

So why don't you model us some nice, futuristic (but not stupid-looking) cars? ;)

No hovercars, mind, just the wheels-and-tarmac type.

Winter

Well it looks like an old style van, but in fact in runs with hydrogen and toxic waste.

Remeber also X-com apocalyse, its was a futuristic game with retro style vehicules....also, in some developping countries (ref to ufo ai developping countries tactical map) you may still see that kind of car (no mean to be rude with developing countries).

Look at china or India, you can still have a "taxi" pulled by a guy and we are year 2007. So that should be fine for a while.

Maybe this is futuristic enough for you, an heavily armed helicopter that can move troupes ( not textured ).

But this kind of models cost 1500 poly's triangled, and a lot of texture work.
And making the UV map
