svn version: not being able to shoot
« on: February 09, 2007, 11:48:06 am »
I downloaded the newest svn version (a couple days ago, then updated it everyday hoping for a bugfix) and I can't shoot... When I land somewhere, the mission starts and I simply cannot shoot, when I choose 'primary fire' or any other type of attack a word appears on screen - as if I said something
Code: [Select]
temporarysanity: firerp

I checked the aliens and reaction fire - they can shoot and my soldiers use reaction fire. I just can't order them to shoot when I want.

Any suggestions?

When I tried to shoot two times, this is what I got in the console:

Code: [Select]
Team 0 ended round, team 1's round started!
tempsanity: firerp
tempsanity: firerp

this is most probably due to the new introduced firemode code. we are currently working on a fix for this

Currently (as in revision 6190) all known problems with shooting (except unknown condition for grenades which appears sometimes) are supposed to be fixed. Please test and report any bugs you hit at sourceforge tracker or here.

Ok so the solution is kinda lame ;)
I had to delete my .ufoai folder from my home directory.
The new firearms code is very nice - well, I mean the similarity to XCOM 1&2.

Alt-hud

Firing doesn't seem to work in the Alt-hud, only the "x-com" one. Or am I doing something wrong.

I do like the more options for the firing though, pretty cool. I haven't got to play in a while because of school, nice progress so far.
