UFO AI > UFO Aftermath? It seems to think so!

Hello there.

I recently downloaded and tried UFO: Alien Invasion.  Worked pretty well with no obvious bugs that I ran across while getting my team killed during my first mission.

Problem, Maybe I should have read closer or something but is this game built on UFO: Aftermath?  I ask because I decided to play Aftermath a while after playing AI.  And my Aftermath shortcut was rerouted to automatically start AI.  Hmmmm no problem I will go into my program file and execute the .exe directly.  Started AI again.  Well piss, I remove AI from my HD.  Now Aftermath is missing files and things.  Someone didn't like Aftermath so much they sabotaged it when I installed AI on my puter?  Pullin my hair our here.  I removed and reinstalled Aftermath to get a rainbow of fruit flavorful errors.  What gives?  Anyone else ran across this?

ufo:ai is in no way related to ufo:aftermath - sorry but i'm using linux and thus never encountered these problems (even due to the fact that aftermath is not available for linux :-D)

Aftermath is a boring game - I would prefer to play the original X-COM (well, I'm not thinking about Apocalypse which wasn't nearly as good) or UFO: AI even if it is unfinished.
