yeah - now i got it, too. though that just ufo hangs in an endless loop....

Now i got it!!!  :lol:

I post how i solve the problem finally for other people with the same problem:

Download ATI Driver Installer from ATI web:

https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27

Now follow those steps:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-$(uname -r)
sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx
sudo aticonfig --initial
sudo aticonfig --overlay-type=Xv

That is a program for configure the xserver: We have to choose to the first question NO and select fglrx, the next question is your Graphical Card, write there. Example ATI Radeon 9100. The next questions are personal configuration, ask them and exit.

sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

REBOOT THE MACHINE!!

Again in console mode type that:

glxinfo

Something like that have to appear:

Go to your game directory

cd /home/jagreen/ufoai/trunk

type:

./ufo +set vid_ref glx

I still think you should try cpuburn, especially if your computer can still be returned or repaired for free.

Anyway, have a nice game (and bug-hunting). :)
