Recompiled 2.3 lag

I have recompiled the ufo:ai 2.3, because i wanted more bases. But now, when i press campaign, the game lags for a second and then shows the menu. During the game, there is some kind of error that makes the game to shut down. So i have to save frequently. Haven't read the log yet, but what could it be?

without logs or gprof stuff ... no idea

What were the changes you applied to 2.3 ??
That's the place to start the search.
Remove your changes one by one until it doesn't lag anymore.

In logs, there isn't any marks about lag, everything loads perfectly, no errors, but the mentioned one is the only lag. Maybe it loads that much?

Also, there is no info about the game shutdown, too.

Like Duke suggested, I think your best plan is to remove your changes one-by-one until you get a build that doesn't lag.  I know it's tedious, but I think that is your best course of action.
