Hi odie, I think your proposal is much better than mine. I am always at the idea that the name of the base would be handful to see.

I played a lot of times the X-COM serie, and I think this kind of shortcuts are handful. Just my opinion, it's reasonable.

Tactics / Re: Your Tactics
« on: April 27, 2009, 03:55:44 pm »
In version 2.2.1 my favourite weapon is sniper rifle. Range 250 and damage 120, nothing else to say. All of my troopers are equipped with: sniper rifle, medikit, night visor (not active in version 2.2.1), stunner (when available).

I make squad of two soldiers, moving carefully to maintein the necessary point for the reaction fire.

Feature Requests / Line of sight improvement
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:20:31 am »
When aiming to an enemy, the program draw a line from the shooter to the target enemy. If there is free line of sight this line is green, if there is no line of sight this line is red from the obstacle to the target. Because others PHALANX soldiers and civilians are not considered obstacle, if the target is far and if you don't verify the path, you risk to shoot at enemy and kill instead a soldier or a civilian. So I think PHALANX soldiers and civilians should be considered obstacle, or this could be an option that the player can activate.

Feature Requests / New keyboard shotcuts
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:16:09 am »
I think it will be useful to have some keyboard shortcuts for chancing the "speed of time". For example in combat mode I can press the buttons from 1 to 8 to select the soldier, so in the world map I should press 1 to 8 to get:
1. 5 seconds
2. 5 minutes
3. 1 hour
4. 12 hours
5. 1 day

Feature Requests / Client email improvement
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:13:53 am »
I suggest the following improvements to the client email:
- possibility to delete mail;
- show the name of the base that generated the mail: for example if I have 6 bases and I receive a mail that notify me that a research is completed, I don't remember which base started this research, so I have to search the base with the scientist free to reallocate them

Bugs in older version (2.2.1) / Cannot select niether base or mission
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:11:23 am »
If the red "X" on the world map, that mark a new mission available, is randomly positioned too near a base, I cannot select niether the mission or the base. If I try it will open a windows that show me the details of the mission, but I can't select the mission so the game inevitably go to a loss.

If I create a new base when antimatter storage buildings are available, I can't build hospital. This because if I select hospital in the buildings list and then I position it on the base map, the program create a new antimatter storage instead of a new hospital.

PS: I read that in version 2.3 there will be a base limit of 3, is this correct? I hope no...

Bugs in older version (2.2.1) / Problems in convoyo1n.map
« on: April 27, 2009, 08:05:52 am »
I think this map should be revisisted because:
- first of all it's nasty difficult! You can't climb up the hills, but aliens do;
- there's a kind of problem with the graphic: on the west, the police cars is assigned to level 2 instead of being assigned to level 1; if aliens are in that zone, you have problems aiming at them

I'm absolutely sure that the paklog.txt file belong to UFO-AI version 2.1. On my PC there is Windows XP, Office and UFO: I don't think Microsoft's program search for a file named shaders.txt in the UFO-AI subfolders...
The log tell that the program searched the file shaders.txt and didn't found it. That was becuase it searched in the wrong folder. This problem was probably correlated to another bug that I have wrote here in the forum, in the area "bug with the 2.1 version", that caused, together with other missing files (translations file), that the game has returned to the main menu during playing.

The problem is that folder "c:\programme" does not exists, becuase my language is italian. The correct folder name is "c:\programmi"
