I think what you have is a bit overcomplicated, not to mention time consuming.

I also made a thread about the Laser Defense Turret.

Eh..... u snipe with machine guns???  :o

He must live in the future :o

That mission is quite annoying, I don't have any pre planned strategies for it, but I do try to snipe as best as I can.

Currently, I like DuKe's model better. It just seems right for some reason.

Here how the final version is going to look, if you like it i finisch all the stuff.
I add some detail, but not to much.
Holy Hell, that looks awesome.

Pardon me, but that picture just took me by such surprise that I didn't have anything else to say.

Design / Re: Managing Mundane vs. Cutting Edge Gear and Equipment

As for flamethrowers, they i believe were outlawed by the geneva convention. For the simple fact that the sound of someone burning to death causes severe trauma to those in range to hear it, and understand what it is that they are hearing.
The aliens weren't there to sign that Geneva Convention or any of the Biological Weapons Geneva Conventions, so it's legally fair to use those weapons against them.

Do you really want to give up the gas grenades? It really is easier to use them than the stun rods.

Feature Requests / Re: Whats bugging me so far with 2.2.1

Launching interceptors: I hope this bug is fixed to next release. What is the deal? Do you HAVE to equip each interceptor with fuelpods?

Yah, only the Stilleto need's fuel pods because it's a short range interceptor.

To go further, you need Saracens, the more expensive of the two interceptors.

Base-overview: I really lack an overview of each base in terms of different employes, living space etc. Now it´s hours of clicking back and forth to get it right.
Also it should be a all-base-overview where you could easily transfer employes without having to click each one as it is now. As now, you have 2 not very good ways to move people around:
1) un-hire at base 1, hire at base 2 (a lot of clicking)
2) transfer from base 1 to base 2 (a lot of clicking + transfer delay)
These to options practically would do the same thing, but the delay differs. So if youre willing to do the extensive clicking in option 1 you can skip the delay. Wierd.

I don't do much transferring, it's easer to sell one base's equipment then sell it to the desired base, it's also instant.

Human AI: This is sooo frustrating, in some scenarios they do everything to be in your way blocking coridors and so on. In one scenario they surrounded an alien on all sides and just stood there for ever, so stupid.

Everyone already knows this and agrees with you.

It reminds me of the BSG Viper, but that's not a bad thing.

I could totally see myself cruising the galaxy in that thing. 8)

Freegamer has a point.

Oh, I thought the Starchaser looked too big, I originally thought it was a dropship.

They're both good, I just don't know why I like the neutral better than the grey.

Yeah, that looks like something that could fly rather fast and still carry a bit, while being able to land in tight spaces.

Looks like something that could glide and go far - very economical and long-ranged.

In other words, it's awesome.

I like the last model! Maybe wings could fold along that pylons when landed so that it wont occupy too much space on maps?

I quite like both models! I think the top one (plane2.jpg) is best as the Hyperion, though we may be able to use the other one for something else (Starchaser interceptor maybe?). The only change necessary is on the engines, it needs adjustable outboard engine nozzles like the Harrier Jump Jet to show STOL capability.

Regards,
Winter

Maybe a lift-fan, like in F-35?

Decided to condense most important 3 responses into one place.

These three together would make a great Idea, maybe a choice between Winter & Zorlen's engine ideas.

That's why I need to know what he doesn't like specifcly if I want to make a new one...

How can you make something "right" if you don't know what you did "wrong"?

Agreed, the Starchaser looks like one badass dropship, what is wrong about it? ???

Any law majors here that can clarify?

FAQ / Re: Having Trouble With Reaction Fire
« on: December 11, 2008, 01:12:50 am »
Somehow, what I've read about 2.3 reaction fire makes me think that I'll be forced to change tactics.

Currently I kill at least half the aliens with reaction fire.
