Feature Requests / Re: Alien Tracking Radar for combat missions
« on: April 25, 2009, 03:47:04 am »
About the Firebird pilots; in later versions were going to have mission radar and UGVs, let's just say that the pilot & copilot are handling those things.

After all, the UGV's have to be remote-controlled from somewhere and someone has to be monitoring the radar.

HA..re-did the thing.

Half the polys, twice the awesome!

I've got a feeling that it's going to look badass when it's textured.

From that angle, it doesn't look like a pistol, it looks like a hand-cannon.

I would say it's a nice first try at the blodspider autopsy.

Design / Re: Question: Why no bleeding
« on: March 22, 2009, 07:37:08 pm »
Along these lines, why no gore? From the descriptions of alien weapons in the wiki, I half expected grotesquely mutilated corpses strewn about the battle field. Why don't the aliens explode like blood sausages? Or melt into piles of goo? Is there no creativity in the death department any more?

Refer to BTAxis's post.

Tactics / Re: Super-aliens or Alien heroes
« on: March 17, 2009, 05:36:22 pm »
The Commanding Officer of an alien raid would probably just have better stats.

They could probably be the first aliens to be encountered using "Medium Alien armor"

Maybe the first aliens equipped with Particle Beam Weapons.

But I'm not really into the idea of Super Aliens or Mission Commanders.

What is your opinion about MKII weapons?
The machine gun should be obsolete-able by the xaw95 Gatling Gun in the equipment gallery.

Edit: Researchable add-ons/upgrades for equipment like scopes, new ammunition, & such would also be nice if unfeasible.

Just throwing it out there because most of the stuff in the thread probably won't get into the game anyway.

Feature Requests / Re: Arming aircraft - possible improvement
« on: March 01, 2009, 09:05:34 pm »

4 months to install a gun? US aircrews could do it in minutes, it's their job.

This is just a mockup.

-geever

I was just being funny/sarcastic. I do think something like that setup could be an improvement.

There actually -is- a Training Room facility mentioned in the wiki, so the concept might already be intended.

I noticed it to, I guess it must have been in an older build and forgotten.

Aren't they already coming out with America's Army 3 soon.

Tactics / Convoy Map Tactics

UHH, god do I hate that map.

1) "Military" civilians are to far away to rescue.

2) The Canyon is a friggin DeathTrap, but using it is mandatory.

3) My guys keep dieing.

How about a slightly different approach: Battleship is a description of its role and firepower, not its size. :)
Yes, that'll work.

The Mantis looks bad ass, I vote we add it.

Maybe you could render up a combat oriented "Heavy Mantis" with guns & whatnot.

I like it.

For some reason though, whenever I think "Alien Battleship" I think something the size of an airship or earth battleship ship bristling with guns and engines and whatnot.

But your design is good to. I'd like to fly in it.
