Discussion / Re: Long time no see!
« on: February 05, 2018, 07:20:17 pm »
that having option to save during the battle mode would attract more people. i mean saying "this should be played like that" usually don't go too well with people. that's just my opinion. i know i was discussed before and there will never be option to save in battle mode but just saying... i mean its always an option for iron more or semi iron mode where you still can't save on battle more.
thought it was obvious what i was saying.

This is nonsense! We don't tell you how to play the game. And I doubt that "missing" feature would be the reason for the forum being quiet.

On the other hand, I don't tell you what to do, so you should not tell me what I should do (like implement a feature I don't feel important). You are free to implement it for yourself. More over, our license even allows distributing such a mod! That's my point.

Have fun!

Mac / Re: Antimatter transfering problem
« on: January 06, 2018, 03:03:04 pm »
When I transfer antimatter to another base, it does not reach the destination. I'm losing the antimatter from the source base and it does not appear in the destination base.

Did you wait like a day or two? Transfers are not instant. On the Transfer screen there is a List button that will show you all the in progress transfers with ETAs.
I started an AM transfer and it did arrive.

Also, when I go for another transfer, the amount of the last antimatter transferring appears in red in the transfer list. I have to quit and load the game again to restore the transfer list.

Yeah, I just noticed that the cargo list keep the previous AM amount. You can click through it to eliminate, but it is an obvious bug. I'll file a ticket about it and solve soon. I just fixed it.

yes i installed it from ubuntu software repository with apt (thanks for that btw), as for compiling dev2.6 with debuging i might do that after this weekend, i am kinda busy during next few days, will see where it goes from there.

I meant try running the installed version via gdb and collect the backtrace, not necessarily compiling the wip version. I hope that the Ubuntu packagers added debug symbols to the binary. Our best chance to reproduce the problem is the same version as you used.

I could not reproduce the issue with {Git 2.6-dev, Git 2.5 branch HEAD, Git 2.5.0 tag} versions (on Debian 8). Still it is possible that the released version or Ubuntu 17.10 behaves a bit different. Maybe need to build a VM for that..

Did you install the game from the Ubuntu Software Center?

Since you are on Linux, generating a backtrace (crash report) isn't too hard. Could you try that:https://ufoai.org/wiki/Debugging#Linux ? That info would help a lot.

Could not load environment map 0

This error message usually appears when the game data is not available. From where you downloaded the game? Did you get the source archive from SourceForge? If so, you need the contets of the data pack (*.pk3) in the game directory.

Bugs in development version (2.6-dev) / Re: CTD after a CTD
« on: November 27, 2017, 12:50:40 am »
This start to make me crazy. tooo much CTD in few times. :p

When your game crash, I reload the auto-save. This auto save crash the game.
For ''solve'' this, you must give a destination to the firebird. My autosave happen after a mission, and this fly dont have any target, so the game crash.

Version : 2.6 IA 32 Nov 14 2017 win32 Debug.

Please file a bugreport and attach the savegame.

Damn, I was wrong. Actually we zip all win32 binaries in our snapshot releases:

2.5: http://ufoai.org/snapshots/ufoai-stable-win32.zip
2.6-dev: http://ufoai.org/snapshots/ufoai-latest-win32.zip
