Yes, what the subject line says. Spooky Shit #2: I had this alien sitting in one square for half dozen turns, untargettable and somehow between the squares, projectiles and knives whizzed right through, and the dozen grenades at it's feet didn't work any better to make it fall down or stop shooting back - untill it became invisible and started walking around, only noticeable by the energy weapon shots from here and there....

When  I deploy a smoke grenade, my fps drops from 40-ish to 4-ish, regardless of if the smoke is on-screen or not. At first I didn't think much of it, okay maybe it's a cpu-intensive smoke effect or whatever and it's an old computer, but when playing the train map I noticed that there's a chimney with smoke rising from it and my fps is totally unchanged, hmm...

What could be going on, might there be something in the logs that may cast some light on this issue (which log file)?

Feature Requests / soldier list highlight on removal

When going through the employee list for soldiers right click on the check box to remove a soldier -> soldier on the very top of the list gets highlighted. Would be much more convenient if selection jumped to next or previous soldier from the one that got removed.

is this a bug that a panicking soldier is able to move and fire? I didn't get the logs for this, sorry about that :^/

The tu cost for movement indications are absent, but I could walk around and shoot while the "currently panicking" text is there.

Was there a design decision, to allow closing the firing mode menu only by right-clicking on it? Previous versions allowed clicking elsewhere to close that menu, but no more.

sometimes I get a zero hit probability when it should be, and is, an easy shot, like in the screenshot.

Not sure if this should go here or in the bug forums/tracker - if I hover over the message line at the top of the screen and scroll the mouse wheel, I can look at older messages, and when I move the mouse away from the messages and the message list snaps back to a single line it continues to display an old message that I was viewing; all good so far, but when a new message arrives, the list is just moved one notch so another old message gets displayed a second time which is very confusing. When a new message arrives, it should be displayed instead of an old one!

during a battle the mouse cursor changed to a bare crosshair symbol and stayed that way, so I wasn't able to do anything with the mouse. Cursor movement was okay, but I could only point it around. Last thing I did before it broke was to click n' browse different firemodes of an electro laser, and then I tried clicking on a gray fire symbol (empty hand, just checking if it was possible to punch an alien :))). After that it was like in the screenshot. It didn't allow me in the menus either, so I went to console and quit.

I don't see anything wonky in console log, are there other logs of interest? This happened on ferry map.

In small house map enemy not targetable for some reason, squares on sides and in front are. I took the shot aim at the square behind it, and scored a hit. screenshots 00-02

In city tower map there's an impassable square next to a table. Screenshot 07, impassable square one "north" from the selected one.

Trying to get the dev version for the first time: I've been following the instruction on how to get the source, and apparently I downloaded 850 megs of data

Discussion / order an interceptor to use specific weapons?

Question is the topic line - is it possible?

This would be useful when intercepting scouts, I'm playing on the hardest difficulty where funding is minimal so it sucks to use a couple missiles to take out a puny ufo that could just as well have been gunned down with a shiva.
