I would not recommend trying to play with this UI. It is very early in the development and I've just shared it so others can see where I am going. It's not functional enough for regular play.

well if ya can link the personal , i think i will enjoy being ur beta-tester:) the UI looks great :)

hey:) you was right, i had only the first version, i updated to latest gui version and now the switch hands button shows.

one more thing that i noticed after a couple of missions, sometimes the target (X) disappears from certain weapons and i have to fire blind :), especially after using medipack. never noticed this before, but i did update my game to a new build and that might be it also.
will try with default gui and see if this stlil happens

first of all it looks nice, trying to get used to it, but i think im gona like it:)

i got a fast question about this gui: how to switch from right hand to left hand:) so i can use that one , except changing items in inventory window.

Code: [Select]

Linux / Re: Debian/Ubuntu packages for i386/amd64
« on: January 18, 2012, 08:33:53 am »
Works mostly fine on my oneiric amd64 laptop w. intel graphics.

1) I had to force install with dpkg --force-depends though, and symlink /usr/lib/libbfd-2.20.1-system.20100303.so to /usr/lib/libbfd-2.21.53-system.20110810.so
2) In ~30 hours of playing I have seen 1 crash in the earth view, and 1 crash in the tactical mode

I am now building ubuntu oneiric packages from recent git. Will post links here when I confirm working game client.

I managed to build up a git version also but before december update, if ya can make .deb , i would apreciate it. tnx

i've updated the packages and fixed some font bugs of the old ones - please try them and report problems.

i did try the 64.deb version on my Ubuntu 11.10 and i got stuck on binutils

$ sudo dpkg -i ufoai_2.4-dev_amd64.deb
Selecting previously deselected package ufoai.
(Reading database ... 341838 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking ufoai (from ufoai_2.4-dev_amd64.deb) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of ufoai:
ufoai depends on binutils (<< 2.20.2); however:
Version of binutils on system is 2.21.53.20110810-0ubuntu5.
dpkg: error processing ufoai (--install):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured

uname -a
Linux 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

EDIT: i did try to fake it with a symbolic link but it didnt work:) i got same error

Discussion / in mission field map?
« on: August 05, 2011, 10:39:18 am »
hello im new to this forum and game and i have to say i'm amazed so much of the old xcom tactics and feeling is in this game, GOOD JOB

i remember in Xcom there was a in-mission map, where u could see the battle field and highlighted team and enemies which helped alot with my strategy, is there such option here?

and the 2nd thing i wanted to point out, when in a dark mission (night time) i enter with my soldier in a dark room, it used to light up and see whats in there, here its stil dark, and its hard to understand if there are holes in the ground in which i could fall and i cant quite feel if im protected in a corner or there is a gap in the wall :)
