Hi all,
Anyone about the armour?? I just couldn't complete a mission. Found at least 3 heavy armoured Ortnoks in a Laboratory building and it always ended by a killing of 2 my soldiers due to an insufficient protection when even 2 sniper close range shots couldn't stop the aliens. I'm a bit desperate..:)

I've just got an error when I was ending a hill mission. All done, 2 aliens stunned, other killed and when I was going to kill the last one in a Harvester, the game froze and crashed (shut itself)..

Ok, uploading some saved games. I have played this game even on Ubuntu and that was 2 years ago. I would say that I'm pretty good tactic leader but this trunk is not about tactics. I can't see an alien even when he moves behind me. He just disappears and I don't even notice that he was right behind me. Civilians are also more friendly to aliens. Block entrances and looking alien company that I can't even shoot at them..:) Believe me, I know this game pretty well and this trunk is the most difficult trunk so far without a doubt..

Hi,
I have started playing the game again and now without the automissions. I still can't collect the alien armor even when all aliens on a mission wear them. I have noticed a bug. When I play the middle East suburb mission, one soldier can't move at all and has to stay at the Firebird. I can't play it. Later missions when all Ortnoks have the heavy armor and my soldier only the basic ones are like a slaughter.. :(

Automission feature is WIP, it doesn't collect items yet.

Hi, some of them show (mission statement) that items have been collected. It also shows that instead of a Harvester I'm selling a Scout but the price is correct. The damage level of the crashed UFO (percentage) is also different, I mean when I want to sell it and when actually selling to a nation. It might be a bug but not important, I recover landed Ufos only, they have more aliens materials and the dismantle time is also the same as for damaged ones..

Hi all,
I couldn't wait until the 2.4 trunk comes out so I have installed the development version as I always do. The game is cool again but I have noticed some problems. The soldiers are always in the same directions so when I move forward, an alien behind opens fire and mostly kill a member of the squad. They are pretty accurate and the damage level is also higher than in my soldier because they can fire 3 single shots from a plasma handgun and a soldier is dead. I have to fire 2x double fire (6 shots) from a laser rifle to kill him (Taman w/o armor). I don't know why but I can't collect any alien armor (even when they wear a light or strong armor) and it means that I'm stuck with just that human armor from the beginning of the game. I have chosen quite many auto missions (50x50) so maybe there is the problem.
I use the last Sabayon linux 6.0 as an OS. I don't bother with the level damage but the missing armor research makes my soldiers weak and I have to retry many missions to keep the squad alive. It takes a single shot to kill a soldier by a plasma rifle. I have to fire 3 rockets or 5 grenades to kill an Ortnok with a heavy armor equipped by the rifle or a plasma blaster but he kills a soldier by a single shot..:)

I always have 2 snipers, one uses a coin gun, the other one a sniper rifle, 2 heavy laser shooters, 2 explosive experts, one with a grenade launcher and the other one with a rocket launcher. Both also have a particle beam pistol for close combats for the Big City like missions. The last two guys have laser rifles. I can play any mission with these teams and hardly ever loose a soldier. I like the grenade launcher with the plasma grenades, its a very effective weapon and a grenade launcher soldier is always the highest ranked officer with more kills than missions..
I play a 2.3.1 release on linux. Could anyone tell me please if there are the particle beam rifles and cannons in the game? I couldn't get them so far but the particle beam pistol was researched a long time ago..

I also would like to mention that sometimes dropped the fps on a mission from 49-50 to 10-20. It wasn't so often and lasted for several seconds..

Hi all,
I have updated kernel on Sabayon linux 5.5 x86_64 Gnome from 2.6.37-sabayon to 2.6.38-sabayon and the game is so slow that I can't even play it. I have an SSD and it took approx 5 seconds to load up the game but now it's over 30 secs and instead of 50fps it has 2fps or even less. I have also updated the nvidia graphics driver. I had the same problem when I first time installed the game but after that an UFOAI update (whole game cca 500MB) came up and I could play the game. A terminal output..

RF(single shot, not pulse fire etc.) works for me but not on 100%. At the beginning it didn't work at all but now it works. I have 2 captains, 3 lieutenants, 4 second lieutenants and some warrant, second warrant officers and sergeants. I swap approx 16 soldiers when some are heavy wounded. The best soldiers have excellent or highly proficient mind but it's still not enough to use RF more effective. It's just a single shot when aliens fire by pulse or burst..

Hi all,
I have played this game since 1.X so I can say I'm a bit experienced. I have 2 grenade launchers(the best soldiers - 222x266 and 132x166, means more than one killed alien per game) equipped by PB grenades, then 2 sniper riflemen and the rest is equipped by laser guns, mostly rifles and just one by heavy one. I can usually finish the crash site games by the first round(scout and fighter) but harvesters are more complicated, especially in the desert..

Thanks for that quick reply but how I said this is exactly same distro and exactly same driver like on my old hdd. I have a nvidia graphics and 195.36.31 driver which matches the kernel 2.6.35 = nvidia-drivers-195.36.31#2.6.35-sabayon.
