Still I think there should be scroll bars in such a case. Taking for granted that people have a mouse wheel is one thing, but expecting them to know when it can be used is another. If there are no scroll bars, I don't know that I can use the wheel.

Just had an idea. How about the ammunition being some sort of capsule containing a few chemicals, which can be triggered by the weapon to undergo an extremely exothermic reaction when it is fired. By the time they reach the target, the contents have become hot enough to melt through the shell and do some damage.

The isometric cursor maybe, but not the mouse itself. It works in other games too (JA2 for example). If the mouse is in the vicinity of usable objects, it changes shape and the objects can be operated. It would be nice to be able to manualy make it snap back onto the grid though (like holding ctrl or similar).

I notice it says "Employee" in the legend. If that means that not only soldiers can get injured, it would be nice to have an indication whether Afra Awogbemi is a soldier or scientist &ca.

I think adding blood to the symbols will again cause a problem with too much detail. Maybe changing the general colours will do something. How about replacing the pale yellow with a strong red?

I think you're talking about different things here:

The buttons is not there to reserve TUs for your current round, but to enable your soldier to take a reaction shot during the opponent's round. This is a very different system from the one used in x-com.

Not necessarily. If you consider the not really nice one,  for example: why would you need a square version of it? Aliens (same as humans) tend to be long and slender, rather than squarish, so any square version would not add any extra detail or information. The height of the alien stays exactly the same.
The same is true for weapons, which should possibly be centred on the vertical. Or even grenades, centred vertically and horizontally.

I'm not saying that extra detail isn't good. I'm saying that, if there is no square version of a picture (for whatever reason), there is no need to scrap or redo it.

@Zenerka: can't you just centre any narrower images horizontally, rather than stretching them? So if it has a width of 150, it gets a transparent border of 45 on each side?
