i guess you already tried options/video in-game.

i am not sure what determines which options you get.

afair that is not a listed option, which means you can't have it. not sure what needs to be done to enable it.

if you svn up, you should find that map compilation just got much faster, particularly if you have a multicore machine. Thanks to mattn and wilminator.

your soldiers take more damage at higher difficulties,
also you start with less
probably other stuff too.

base attacks were in 2.1, i think they are back in 2.3. never happenned to me in 2.2, but that does not mean it will never happen.

using your savegame, i can't get scrolling to work either (using touchpad on laptop under vista)

i am sure that hovering over the list with the pointer works on my desktop (under xp) with a mousewheel.

just going to try something else...

As far as I'm aware, armour does not degrade, (much as I believe it should, as this would actually be an issue once heavier types are available) which means that using the default system would be less resource intensive than you might otherwise believe. Extending the default system to encompass terrain penetration however, rather than using a seperate dynamic, would demand that obstacles feature many more values; one for each damage type.

slightly off thread, but check the light across edges of tiles in day and night versions.

i noticed (not on these), but in svn many night maps have light coming out of doors and terminating at the edge of the tile.

AFAIR you cannot use UGVs until 2.3

which is quite broken ATM. when it is fixed it should be much better...
