i would sugest something like they had in ufo enemy unknown (i tryed to take some print screens of it so that i could remind you of what it looked like but for some reason the pic dosent seem to work(probobly coz the game is in such a low resolution  i don't know any ideas on how to do this))

ok so my windows fraged up and i lost all that i had been working on but hearing you need maps i have started work on some new buildings

also im having more problems with my irc client so it will take me more time to get on to that but with the lose of all my maps i had been working on it will be some time till im back to the point where i will need to ask questions

on the plus side i am building new maps with a bit more experience so they should be better

just be patient it may take time but i will make some maps and map parts

Design / Re: Defending downed DROPSHIPs?

could add a turn limit. i.e the survivors must survive for 10-15 rounds befor being able to use the rescuers

Tactics / Re: Combat Medics
« on: May 09, 2008, 09:40:05 am »
I usually give every soldier a medikit. I will probably carry on doing this until penalties for carrying too much weight are implemented.

this is what i do
then i try to keep my troops in pairs on the battlefield

Discussion / yet another idea for something new
« on: April 29, 2008, 12:07:57 am »
in the past all attempts to make an electro magnetic bomb ended up the size of a nuke but with resent advances in electro magnetic weaponry i believe we can now make an em grenade.

after researching this we created more of an emp demo pack that renders all nearby electrical equipment useless (including your own team members and only for a limited time)
our own troops in the blast radios would still be able to use conventional weapons (at less chance of hitting the target due to no  lazer sights and so on)
despite being around the same size as a med pack the emp demo pack has much more weight to it due to the amount of electrical components used in its construction.

as a side note each pack can only be used once (all electronics are fried upon detonation)
no actual damage is dealt by this wepon

Discussion / Re: Ideas for new technologies
« on: April 23, 2008, 01:45:07 pm »
ok so just an idea

during research on the alien astro-navigation unit scientists came across head gear that is used as an interface to assist the pilot during flight, after some tampering and reverse engineering the same scientists realized that they could tune the head gear in to the same signal used by the spy satellites of the late 20th century as these satellites are so old the alien threat has ignored them. solders in the filed can use this headgear (at the cost of the astro-navigation unit) to see all units on the field of battle as long as they are in the open (old satellites cannot see underground or inside building)

ok well it was just an observation realy

i have spent a bit of time reading the forums now and something that has stuck in my mind is someone saying that u should use more of an xcom style interceptor screen i disagree maybe give u the option to do this but not by default as the current interceptors make me feel like a commander watching the battle (dogfight) from the comfort of my commandcenter the only bad thing about interceptors is that its so hard to shoot down a ufo  but this will come with balancing

btw i am using 2.3 as 2.2 was over far to quick and 2.3 is just better in every way

Discussion / My first bit of feed back and stuf
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:52:30 pm »
this is my first post on here so let me start by saying wow i had a passion for ufo enemy unknown (not so much the others) and this game has all the elements that made it so good.
i haven't stopped playing it since i found it 3 days ago

1 thing that did get to me was when i was in a bases defence mission i could only use the 8 troops set to my drop ship (i had about 15 men there) i dont know if this is something that u cant change but it might be an idea to let the player use all the troops that they have at a base

other than this UFO:AI rules and far surpasses enemy unknown
keep up the good work
