I have been playing this game for a long time and I like the game alot. However I'm quite unsatisfied about a few things.
A. story
  OK so I know the storyline isn't completed yet but really I see unrealistic plots at the very start. How can Aliens kill 20000+ people in their first wave of attack? Think about it. Here's an example. In WW2 the Imperial Japanese Army killed 300000 people (mostly civilians. Some are POWs and none of them is armed) within 6 weeks during the Nanking Massacre. On average a Jap soldier kill 12.5 civilians. So theoraticaly the aliens will only be able to kill 12.5x6(6 UFOs. We can assume that they are fighters/scouts as the game description saids that they are small in size)x3 (3 aliens per UFO)=225 civilians. Now of course you may say aliens got much better weapons but in fact they don't really have any rapid firing weapons like machineguns. Instead they focus on damage per shot. And even if they can somehow kill 20000 civilians without running out of ammo or being exhausted, they cannot kill 3 battalions of elite troops as they are really outnumbered. Not to mention that they will have to do it with no aliens got killed or captured.
  Secondly, how can a group of 8 save the world if 3 battalions of elite troops are killed before they can do any damage? You seriously think that a firebird with a speed of 770km/h can head to the otherside of the planet and drop soldiers there before the aliens can escape? What are the local military doing anyway? US, China, Russia and most NATO countries has their own rapid response units their own (eg the SEALs or the chinese airborn units) which can reach anywhere in their country within a few hours. I'm sure that when PHALANX got to a crashed UFO site, the site has already been cleaned up. Worst part is the military doesn't even show up in the game. Why can't there be at very least monthly/weekly reports about what they are doing?
  And what the hell is up with the aliens? If they have planned the attack before really coming to earth, why wouldn't they do a precision strilke against the government officials? Or can't they do it in a shock and awe style? At least they can use better weapons at the very start.
   For me I'm sure that with nowadays (2013) equipments an army defeating the aliens is not a problem. (of course that doesn't count stopping the XVI infection) So I think in real live
PHALANX will only be a research and intel organization. Even if they are armed, their tasks will only be defending the countries which are unable to defend themselves. They are only supported by the UN with little funding as no countries will be funding PHALANX if they are not as effective as their own army. Those requested PHALANX support would be too poor to pay a cent.
B. gameplay
  Why isn't there any kind of armored units like APCs or tanks? What about choppers? Where are the motors? Don't tell me there no tanks in the entire planet. Oh and where is the navy? I suppose they can help retrieving UFOs that are lost to sea and provide Radar coverage near coastal areas. Oh at last why can't I use TR-20 rocket pods as air support units? I know that will be hard for the developers to add navy into the game but it will be a great idea if it can be done.
  Still overall this is a good game. Keep going def.team!

I guess the UN will decide to nuke the aliens. (after all we always think that humans can solve anything with nukes) As the FTL-craft reaches the mothership,
it's blown up into pieces by the shield. Then you have to research the shield and bring a huge nuke to the mothership when the research is completed.

Wow... honestly did not think about that. But I don't think it's worth having a base module dedicated to it. Who said the agents weren't allowed to have personal entertainment within their living quarters? I think from a gameplay point-of-view, it would be too much trouble having to worry about troop morale outside of combat.
I think you can bring Xbox3600 and PS9(it is 2084 right?) into the base and card games are quite fun either.

Hi.I am thinking if you can equip rocket pods and rotary cannons on dropships, why can't you use it in missions?Of course it has certain weaknesses(eg can't be deployed in certain areas like big cities and long cool down time)but it will have huge damge and affects a big area!I know you will worry that it is going to be some kind of superweapon that disrupt the game's balance but if it can only be used with a high cost(like drain all soliders TU to 0 for certain rounds),it can be a very powerful weapon that player will have to use it with extreme caution.What do you think?

in order to have no loss in aircrafts i used 8.Later i found out 5-6 is enough to kill 1 harvaster(but remember to use rotary cannon)

i am now in may 2nd year and so far i losted 2 or 3 soliders only since i use a slow but safe way to sweep th whole map(use lone range weapons like sniper rifle or laser rifle and move slowly and blast the aliens with the whole teams fire power to hell whenever i see one) and all soliders sticks together like glue(except snipers).This wastes time but this can lower death toll.AND IF YOU CAN NO LONGER HADLE THE SITUATION DO NOT SHOOT DOWN UFOs.Let the teorr missions occour itself.

i usually build the first base in SE china since there are a lot of big cities in eastern china and building the base in SE China can let some of the ufos you intercepted falls to sea and this is useful if you are playing in very hard.(at least you dont have to do a tac mission afterwrods)The i build 1 bse in US and 1 base in europe.I putted 7-8 incepters in EU base and their range is enough to intercept ufos in greenland and NE US.The US base is radar and production base while the first home base is research and elite base.I also build tons of SAMs and radar tower in africa and south america to fill the gaps.

i use two ways.
1.a good close combat troop (or strong and fast at least)use stun rod to stun aliens while good snipers cover him/her.But i'll let the snipers shoot the alien for 1-2 times first to make sure the alien is weak enough to be stuned.
2.clear the whole map and kill nearly all aliens(6-7 in crashed harvaster,2 in scout and fighter).Find the last one or two and use eletro laser in close range(the accurcy is very very low).This wastes time but it should be safer since the front half of the battle is just regular fight instead of CQB.

at the begining i use 1 rocket laucher, 2 flamethrowers,2 snipers, 1 g.laucher, 1 assult rifle, 1 machine guner
