And another CTD.

Happened on the geoscape after... well two of my fighters shot down UFOs.
attached is a save right before the fights, but loading the game unfortunately doesn't produce the same error again.

version is r26236 by destructavator.

interesting thing i noticed while trying to reproduce the bug:
letting the game run in 5 min mode or slower: my stiletto wins.
letting the game run faster than 5 min mode and slower than 5 day mode: UFO wins
letting the game run in 5 day mode: they miss each other and no fight takes place...

Bugs prior to release 2.3 / loop in "base under attack"

just experienced sth. odd. in a base attack. The "base is under attack" window appears, i click on auto mission and equip my soldiers. When clicking the ready button at the bottom right of the equip screen... i get back to the "base is under atack" window. And so on... infinite loop.
Only way out is to uncheck the "equip soldiers" box, then it works fine.

my large hangar is missing some stairs (or their textures...) on the defend mission, also there are quite a lot of invisible objects blocking space, only visible as shadows on the 3rd. screenshot.

Feature Requests / Select Soldiers for Base defense?

Well, i guess this might have been pointed out out before, but i can't find it anywhere - so i'll suggest it anyways. If it has been discussed feel free to ignore this, or even link me to the thread ;)

Why ain't i able to select which soldiers i want to defend my base with? (assuming it actually makes sense not to defend with all Soldiers you've got...)
When i happen to have more than 8 Soldiers on my base, the game decides for me which ones will defend it i case of an attack (it's not even the crew of my dropship).
Problem: Not all my soldiers have armor then. My dropship squad is fully equipped (even when they are not the ones defending), the rest is not...

So my suggestion: let me decide who gets to defend, maybe add a "on defense duty" menu to the base or at least take my (first in case of more than one) dropship's crew as Defenders -> last one seems the easiest way.
(or remove the 8-person limit -> makes more sense, but i guess it would be even harder to implement...)

i've eperienced some small "lags" on the above mentioned map (mostly after the start, and no, other maps didn't have those lags), a look into the ufoconsole.log showed hundrets of error messages like this:
"Too many particles (don't add burnFlame2) - exceeded 2048
PC_SPAWN: Could not spawn child particle for 'crashsite_fire'"

Hey!

Just got forcefully sent to my desktop right after a successful mission, with the error on the screenshot. The map was "oriental medium"

version 26164

i guess the reason was that i picked up a plasma blade from a dead alien and killed the last one with it. Couldn't think about anything else i did different than all the other missions. Plasma Blades are reserched btw.

hey!

there are some squares in the crashed UFO that aren't passable, but they look as if they should be. (btw: I've seen screenshots with red/yellow/green coloured boxes showing if a tile is passable, how do i get that? :D)

The selected soldier isn't able to move through the upper entrance to the UFO, though it's obviously not to damaged for that.
Also the corners on the 2nd screenshot's room... aren't even on the same level :D When moving there the soldier moves up the stairs (or ramps in this map, this UFO seems to be handicapped accessible :P )

there are strange black "shadows" moving on all walls when i scroll the map. (r26264 by Destructavator)
I checked with my previous version (r26082) but they weren't there.

OS is Windows 7 x86 RC, my graphics card is a geforce 9600M GT

checked with 2 other maps and there are no such shadows

if the aiming line doesn't actually touch / pass an object there should be a free line of fire, right? The fences on maps like +farm seem to be larger than their textures suggest. I'm aiming above the fence from the 1st story of that building, yet still i'm not able to hit (see the line passing above the fence, not through it?)

i've seen it happen on other maps like crashed ufo for example, so it probably has nothing to do with the map itself.

On the map are 3 visible aliens, but the counter on the top right says 4. When i click it 4 times i'm back at the 1st alien, the 5th is the 2nd and so on, so i guess there aren't 2 aliens in the same space.

happened in r26082 and r26164

edit: ok, after that green fellow killed his comrade he alone counted as 3... after killing him (last alien) the counter went down to 2 and the map was finished.

FAQ / How many weapons is the Dragon supposed to carry?

I just researched the dragon interceptor, read it's ufopedia description and... was disappointed to see only 2 hardpoints. Am i interpreting the ufopedia entry wrongly or it is missing 1-2 hardpoints?

"The upper two prongs can mount small retractable weapons (1-2 small ones), the bottom prong contains a medium weapon (one medium) compartment and the central structure was designed to accommodate the main hardpoint -- the mouth (one large)"
- makes 3-4 hardpoints... not 2

guess it's not that important, but it's still odd....

the highlighted soldier here was the one who spotted the ortnok, and i kinda think he shouldn't be able to do so. (first map in the log)

edit: found an alien hiding spot on another instance of "tropical drug", too. (second map in the log)
Either my man is... well... blind or that alien had some ninja training, hiding in plain sight... it got visible when my soldier went right beside it (where he stands now. He was directly looking at that spot the round before.) and the alien's body disappeared right after killing it...

FAQ / Are antimatter engines working already? r26082

Hey!

I wonder if antimatter engines are implemented yet or if it's bugged / a dead end. I researched "Alien Propulsion" and the "upgrade: antimatter engines techs", but the last one only returned a text file's name, so i won't know if i should be able to use them or not... (See screen, stumbled upon some of them aleady...).

Just went into fast forward mode and lost a battle for my main Base using auto mode ;)

Now i wonder... why can i still launch Aircraft from it? All the buildings are still there, too...
At least research/production/storage won't work anymore :D

In the Aircraft screen it says they were on red alert - great... but i can't end it / capture my base back...

or perhaps... it's supposed to be snow - it was in russia :D

it's been that way in all retries of that mission. I'd be glad to add a save, but somehow my quicksave doesn't always work right :/

Is there a way to make the game save the screenshots at 100% quality instead of 75%?
