Windows / Corrupt XML Data
« on: November 02, 2018, 09:40:49 pm »
Hi,

I'm playing UfoAi2.6, version from the 24th October, german language.
I want to load the saveame. The error message is: Corrupted XML Data.
All of my savegames have this error. switching to english language does not help.
Renaming the savx file to zip does not help for extracting. Setting the compression to 0 in the ufoai console doesnt work, because I cannot load the savegame.  Can someone give me a hint how to fix this?

Windows / Corrupt XML Data

Hello Forum,

I played this game many times the last 10 years. The "stable" 2.5 version I downloaded last week seems to be a pile of shit? It crashes sometimes after completing a mission and I have to do it again, the earth images does not show after a savegame load. And now my savegame is corrupted. In the forum is written that this error could happen with german localisation, so I switched to english. But saving+loading leads to the same error. In another thread they say I should not switch the UAI version. But I havent done this! They say I have to set the compression to 0 and then save the game (http://ufoai.org/forum/index.php?topic=8805.0). Now the savegame is readable, but the parameter #s is not there.

I have uploaded the savegame here if you want to find the error:
http://www.filedropper.com/slotquick
But currently I lost the fun playing this game, so you dont have to fix my savegame.

2.5 is not a stable version. Even Save&Load does not work correctly!

Discussion / Whats the reason to have secondary weapons?
« on: November 15, 2007, 07:23:00 pm »
Hello Forum,

I'm wondering what is the reason for the secondary weapon? (Knife, Pistol, Uzi, ...)
They need less movement points, but if you change the weapon you will have wasted an equal amount.

Sugggestion:
What about changing the harm concept? If you get shot, you dont loose HP, but abilites? If you get shot on the suit, you broke a rip, so you cannot use the railgun/Rocket lancher anymore?
Its unrealistic that a medi pack can fully recover a soldier, do the recovery only to bring the soldier home, to recover him in the hospital.

What about weapon training? It will cost money, so in the beginnig a soldier can only use a pistol?

Discussion / 2.2 Release: Dead Civilians count?
« on: November 15, 2007, 06:26:33 pm »
Hello Forum,

what doese this dead civilians count mean? On normal compaign there are only 40 dead civ allowed. Are they sumed overall missions? Or are the dead civs meant if you miss a mission? (This 6 dead civs every 1 or 2 days, if you dont play a mission)

Where can I change this settings?
I found this compaing.ufo in one of the pk3 files, is this the only place where the data is stored?

Peter

EDIT: Where can I see the current DeadCivCount?

Discussion / How doese an enemy recorgnice you?
« on: January 12, 2007, 11:19:00 am »
Hello Forum,

how doese the enemy know that my soldiers are near? Must the enemy see me? Or has the enemy AI a function that says how much distant my soldiers are?

Example:
In a house are aliens. I want to conquer the house. I have two soldiers that are watching the housedoors. But if the enemy has their turn, the watching soldiers never show me that enemies are coming out to take a look at me. So I decide to place some soldiers near a housewall. And now at this moment the enemies are comming out and killed all of my soldiers.

So why could this be happen?
