Discussion / no convenient Windows IDE (split from "UFO:AI sucks ?")

The lack of a convenient Windows IDE

hehe - nice option to vote for. Isn't there Visual Studio available in a lite version that could be used for the windows users? They would of course still need to set up all their build environment by themselves - but I think they are used to it. Otherwise they would use Linux ;)

But now that almost all (if not all) dependencies are also included in the source tree of ufoai it shouldn't be that hard to do that in visual studio i think - some windows user is willing to provide some project files?

Windows / Nightly Builds (Full Installer)
« on: October 16, 2011, 04:07:18 pm »
There are nightly builds in our snapshots dir

download

There is also a binary-only package available. Use this only if you know what you are doing - as a player you should just use the above linked full-installer.

----
These installers are rebuilt each night - the build-system behind it will also build the final release installers. So testing and reporting problems is very welcome.

Linux / Debian/Ubuntu packages for i386/amd64
« on: October 16, 2011, 04:03:28 pm »
I've uploaded i386 and amd64 debian squeeze packages (should also work on ubuntu) to the snapshots dir

Feedback is needed on these packages. Are they working at all on your system? If not, please attach your ufoconsole.log (~/.ufoai/2.4-dev/base) here. We would like to release deb packages with the 2.4 version.

we've removed the mxml code from our repository and are now just linking against libmxml.

for debian you have to do
Code: [Select]
apt-get install libmxml-dev to be able to link the ufo binary.
