Looks quite complex!...
coz of vertical angle of particles viewed in 3d earth, useless to use pov-ray...
Using particles of flames would be smart, a rotative elispoïd flame particles (passing white > yellow > red trought time/distance) would be a nice bullet effect (inspired by jap animes), needs few coding.
Using pov ray for a flame elipsoïd just feels me asleep.

:-\ So-sorry to aborting (but i'll have to look for map edit http://ufoai.ninex.info/forum/index.php?topic=150.45;topicseen  :P , when i get back from navy to civilian life, in a month)...

Few map ideas :
- off sore plate-forms
- cave / gulf
- military base / shooting area
- jail / prison
- castle (maze garden)
- church / cathedral / temple
- oil refinery
- nuclear plant
- school / nursery

I have to test map editor for one or two of them...

Aliens can "zap"-blast whole earth surface  :o, but they don't!?... :-\
The idea of an impacter to attack subterran structures was fun to me... ;D
The impacter was full of alien robots or equiped with hydro-tanks that strongly reduce  effect of acceleration (i have seen a movie where US air force tested semi-rigid hydro-armor better than air-presure suits for accelerations but not for moving).
voilà, voilà...

I was just thinking that player can have an extra choice (just resize aera/effect of gaz/flashbang ammo for grenade launcher to keep game/balance). Not very useful but always fun to have choice ...

I think aliens structures and moves created with framstick are intelectual properties of their creators, like pictures mades with photoshop, texts with word, etc.   ::)

Is there anybody who have thinked to use Framsticks to create alien creatures like no ones on earth (ex: five or three leged ones).

The rolling medusa (genotype called roller)  :o would make a good alien creature or tank.

Here is the link to this free/shareware 3d artificial life evoluting program (wich include, if i remind correctly, 3d structure, metabolism, sensors, neural network and genetic code for alls what can evolve) : www.framsticks.com

You need a good level in artificial life to use it (better than mine !  :'(), but i think this idea wouldn't be lost...

I am volunteer to do SHIVA particles for geoscape (with POV-Ray), c'est le moins que je puisse faire.
But I don't know what type of file is needed (PNG tiles?, what size?, 32 bit colors?).
Is there a rotate applied to these pics or the same wathever the angle of displaying?

Ok guys, we've got smoke grenades, flash-bang grenades and alien gas grenades.
But none of its for grenade launchers.
Too bad for support (ex: poor soldiers with electric staffs).
In my mind it will be easy to add (just new colors for new ammo, and smaller radius than hand trowed grenades)

Have another strange idea for alien attack against phalanx base : an UFO impacter (Unknown Falling Object  :P) for reach subterran installations.
May be a new type of attack when player can intercept all other type of UFO in adjanced saved games (nearby the end).

Hello.

First, Greetings for the good job (the best remake i ever seen  ;D), keep it up !

But it miss alien or human mines in my mind (floatting mine for aliens in attach  :o) !

I will post some stuff later, I cannot do less for this great game.
