Hi,

Recompiled UFOAI with the "Windows_debug" Options in C::B.
Recompiled the maps and reran the NSIS script.
The game still don't want to enter the base. Screen kindof flash and nothing.

I'm sorry but I can't find how to activate the debug console as mentionned here: http://ufoai.ninex.info/wiki/index.php/Debugging.

Next step would be to run it with gdb ?

I suppose it works, but I'm not sure.
It tells me that the application can't start because it can't find libgdk_pixbuf.dll.
My opinion is that this error comes from the PATH not containing my GTK installation.
So I suppose my installation works.

Thanks for your support guys.

edit: I installed my version. And it works. Saved games are still compatibles ;D
edit2: Well in fact, I can't enter the crash sites :( I'll wait for a more stable version like Destructavator also said.

Hi guys,

I finally sorted all my compilation tools and I was able to compile almost entirely the game.

here's the last errors I have
Code: [Select]
2 warnings:
  File: "..\..\..\src\docs\tex\*.pdf" -> no files found. (O:\Eclipse-WS\UFOAI\src\ports\windows\installer.nsi:88)
  File: "..\..\..\radiant\*.dll" -> no files found. (O:\Eclipse-WS\UFOAI\src\ports\windows\installer.nsi:203)
The first is non-fatal, I know. But I'm not sure about the second one.
I compiled all the workspace through CB, compiled the maps (~2hours) the po files and the pk3.

Should I update the CB ? I tried downloading a more recent version, but my downloads gets interrupted.

Thanks for your input about this.

Possibly the installer installs MinGW to a different directory than the one used in the prepackaged version. If it's a different location, replace your previously installed MinGW with the one from the prepackaged version.

You're right. I installed minGW from the installer of the MinGw official web site. I shouldn't.
The C::B packages contains all that is needed.

I moved the MinGW up a level and corrected my C::B paths. Now it's compiling much better.

Hope this thread will help others.

Thanks.

Are you sure you've run archives.bat? I was fooled by Vistas habit of closing windows originally, and just assumed it had worked fine, but actually it just kept giving errors I couldn't see! :) I hadn't got 7-zip installed, and if you don't, then Archives hasn't run properly.

Go to http://ufoai.ninex.info/wiki/index.php/Code::Blocks, and do what it tells you to do there. This will mean you can compile the game (and I think will solve that error)
You have to compile the maps. C:\...\Ufo AI\contrib\scripts\compile_maps.bat
and compile the language files. Go here: http://ufoai.ninex.info/wiki/index.php/Po
And then run archives.bat.

And I think that's about as far as I have got... =/

But if this doesn't work, ignore me... ;) I've been trying to get through this myself without bothering anyone, and can't remember everything I have done, or haven't! :)

Thanks for your help,

I was sure archives.bat was running fine as I did not double-click on the file. I ran it trough a command window.
I had to copy and rename the 7z.exe file to 7za.exe, but then "archives.bat" was working well.

I then followed your C::B link and ran into the error described here http://ufoai.ninex.info/forum/index.php?topic=2874.0.

Then I'm not sure about what to exactly do with it. I copied the content of the updated Codeblocks directory into where I installed the original installer from the C::B web site. But nothing changed. The compiler still stop on the glist.h include.

I'm also not sure what to do with the MinGw files.

I'm a bit lost about the way information about how to compile are spread into the web site.

Thanks for your "light" on this :)

Hi guys,

Hum ...and any advice about this error  while running the nsi script ? :
Code: [Select]
File: "zlib1.dll" [compress] 30599/59904 bytes
File: "..\..\..\*.exe" -> no files found.
Usage: File [/nonfatal] [/a] ([/r] [/x filespec [...]] filespec [...] |
   /oname=outfile one_file_only)
Error in script "O:\Eclipse-WS\UFOAI\src\ports\windows\installer.nsi" on line 90 -- aborting creation process

I've a fresh SVN update, and ran archives.bat already, but I can't figure yet how to have this exe files.

Thanks.

I was playing with with 2.3 dev, and saves dont seem to work with this build. S

I saw an incompatible comit about savegame file format in the changelogs. You will probably need to start again with this new dev binary.

Your binary works well BTAxis. I have GTK+ installed for other Open Source program.

I really enjoy discovering the new improvements on the dev builds.

Nice jobs guys.

Your welcome :)

Retry when you'll have your graphic driver updated.
If it do not work, perhaps give a try to a 2.3 dev binary snapshot. You'll find a recent thread about this in this forum.

Saved games are NOT compatible between 2.2 and 2.3. Savegames also break occasionally between 2.3 revisions. If you're going to keep updating, be prepared to start a new game every time you do so.

Ok,

I'll restart as many time as needed then :)
Did the bug list been updated since your revision ? Do you think it is usefull that I test 2.3 active bugs against your build ?

If not, I'll keep playing :D

Hi tim,

I dont think so. How do i update Vista, and what will change if i do?
As far as the graphics card i dont know what kind it is, im using a Gateway laptop MT6707

Hi,

Here's the support page of your laptop :
http://assets.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2007/Oasis/1014360R/1014360Rnv.shtml

You have a "Driver Download" link on it. Download your graphic card driver and install it.

About Vista, it should propose you automatic updates (Windows Update). Did you noticed that somtimes when you shutdown your laptop it installs updates ?

Hi,

Try also changing the "vid_mod" parameter.  Set it to 18 wich correspond to 1680x1050.
