i have to agree with Sarin here, a particle hammer that can be used against vehicles sounds similar to another weapon on a different game, no points of guessing which.

For repelling UGVs, the aliens could use a short range disruptor weapon that disables, or even destroy any robotic organism. Also, PHALANX scientists could come up with a countermeasure or their own disruptor to use against the bloodspiders?

Nevermind, it is working now.

However, how does reaction fire work in 2.3, i activate it yet it my soldiers never seem to shoot, they just stand there.

Also, save games don't seem to, well, save, I type in the save game, try to press enter, nothing, try to click away, nothing, what am i doing wrong?

Everytime i try to load skirmish it crashes and returns to the main menu. Is this a technical problem or is this feature still in production?

To add some realism to this game, i thought it would be a good idea to double, triple and so on for the number of buildings being built. For example, a hospital is being built in 6 days, the player wants to build something else, the result of this decision is the increase in time required to build the hospital up to 12 days, 18 days if a third structure is chosen.

This shows that the people involved in construction are splitting up their resources add adjusting to the changes chosen by the player.

Found the Riot Shotgun to be one of my favourites, especially at close range bout 10 or less grid spaces, the Rocket Launcher is good for thinning numbers if the Aliens are stupid enough to remain in my line of sight

By the way what are UGVs and how do you get them?


UGVs are Unmanned Ground Vehicles remote controlled by another person at a safe distance, from what i can tell the project team are still working on getting them working, im not sure myself though, ive only got the 2.2 version and im waiting for the stable release of 2.3

Many of the rifles used by American spec-ops forces today are direct descendants of rifles used in Vietnam (M-14, carbines like M4s), so it's not so clear that in another 70 years things will be completely different. It might be worth looking at trends today to see what could be extrapolated for future development. For instance, customizability is key to the new SCAR system, with interchangeable barrels and chambering to work in different circumstances. This kind of system might provide more flexibility in tactical planning for the early game, without requiring a whole lot of different models to be made.

That is true, i have heard of like 5 different variants of the M16 (M16a etc.)

Technically, they are still operating, the Africa backstory mentions old USA relics or even Soviet antiques as their weaponry, but they are way too old for PHALANX. Most likely a new gunpowder or something would be invented during these years and this way new weapons would surpass the antique weaponry greatly in performance.

Talking about weapons, I think you can introduce modern firearms like Ak47, M4, M16 and much more, and more alien weapons too like more alien laser rifle, alien laser pistols exc.

I think adding these is a bad idea, its 2084 and you think that the AK-47 and M16 would still be operating? No offence but this is a seriously bad idea.
