I'm using the 2.5-dev nightly build from 02 April 2013 on windows 7 64 Bit.

The crash is reproducible, when ever I enter a base defense mission, the game freezes after the switch to the battlescape. The log seems to give some error description:

I've tried defending the base with a team of 8 soldiers as well as 12, the crash occurred both times.

BTW: I tried to report this via the Bug Tracker, but got a 404 error when trying to activate my account.

I just started playing again, after a few years break, and I'm wondering what the difference between the two campaign types is (simple / standard). I'm playing the 2.5 snapshots, and I haven't found any description of this so far. The ingame text seems to be the same for both.

There *is* a difference: the damage shoots do is scaled according to difficulty, humans go from increased to reduced damage, while aliens go the other way around

But even on a very easy campaign (in 2.5-dev) I often had my soldiers die from a single shot from a Sheevar rifle or blaster. This already happened on my third mission, and sometimes these were shots over half the map, from aliens I hadn't even seen before. I eventually got around this with lots and lots of smoke grenades. But in my opinion "very easy" shouldn't frustrate players so much.

I think one issue is, that the reduced frequency of UFOs on easier levels, also results in reduced research opportunities and less equipment choices. The aliens were fielding plasma blasters, while I still went to work with assault and sniper rifles, and simple combat armor.

I'm having a problem with the 2.4 RC, right at the beginning of the campaign, after the intro, when the geoscape is displayed, my game hangs. The geoscape ist still displayed, but the game doesn't react to input any more. This error occurs regardless of the campaign type and difficulty. This error occurs every time I start a campaign.
Skirmish mode seems to work (there are some graphic glitches, but i haven't really had time to check it out).

I downloaded the game right from the link on the front page:

I am running Windows Seven Professional, Service Pack 1
AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile 2.2 GHz
Nvidia Geforce Go 6150 Driver 7.15.11.7967

I have attached my logfile, but it seems to cut off in the middle of the messages.

Thanks, i tried to run C::B and the different scripts with admin priviliges, but that didn't work either.

The ufo2map.exe is there and gets created by c::b, but it just crashes on startup...

Hi, i get the following problems, when trying to compile trunk Rev. 19830 under windows Vista with the provided CodeBlocks environment

Build Workspace fails with
Code: [Select]
Execution of '..\..\contrib\scripts\compile_po.bat c:\MinGW\bin\msgfmt.exe' in 'E:\Development\UFO\build\projects' failed.
If I invoke compile_po.bat myself, it completes without errors. After this i can continue building the Workspace in CB. This now completes without errors.

However when i start the compile_maps.bat, ufo2map.exe fails while starting.
The error message is
Code: [Select]
Die Anwendung konnte nicht richtig initialisiert werden (0xc0000022). Klicken Sie auf "OK", um die Anwendung zu beenden.
This translates to:
Code: [Select]
The application could not be initialised correctly (0xc0000022). Klick "OK" to close the application.The error occurs regardless of wether i invoke ufo2map from the batch file or directly and wether i start it from commandline or GUI.

Anyone had this problem before?
