Discussion / Re: Changes for 2.5
« on: November 26, 2012, 07:30:45 pm »
I was wondering about those extra numbers at the top middle for squad members...

I did notice a bit of an empty feel (especially as I like to use battlefield salvage to pay for a lot of early building,) and the lack of laser rifles was felt keenly... I miss the accuracy.  And I noticed the enemy fields a certain weapon a lot earlier in the game this time around.

I swear I ran a search for "heal" before posting this...

Ah well.  Someone delete this thread please?  And thank you for replying.

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / Medkits no longer heal

Took 2.5dev (circa 11-25-2012, nightly build, Windows 7) out for a spin.  Got my first UFO, took it down, sent the ground pounders in to mop up.  Mission map was the big river dam, with my gang at one end and the aliens all the way at the other end (if any of these details matter... I'm just throwing in anything I can think of.)  One of the buggers shot my grenadier, so I took him behind the front lines for someone else to heal him.  Another soldier dug his medkit out of the backpack, applied "Heal" action, the grenadier made the usual "Ugh!" noise, standard visual took place indicating he had been healed... but no health increase.  I tried it again, then again, then with another healer, then damaged another soldier to try it on him... then quit and started a whole new game in case something had gone terribly wrong with the first one.  Never could get anyone healed.

For the record I'm on a Thinkpad Edge 15 (yeah, I know, but it works well enough.)  And yes I looked through the forum and bug report, couldn't find anything about this matter anywhere else.  If someone else has already mentioned this, please pardon me, a newbie.

Aside from lack of healing, game looks good.  Coming from 2.4 I was surprised when the sniper rifle actually took an alien out in one shot!  FINALLY!  Graphics seem better, text is more explanatory all around... but that intro movie is grainy as all get-out.
