i remember each of their names and develop a close friendship with each soldier. Thats why I had a mini-put-put course installed in my base. But when I cant remember their names I just call them "bro" or "man" or "champ".

I dont think I made it clear that I posted these to serve the purpose of examples. (though if you particularly like one track I can modify in the direction of the game) I meant mostly for you guys to give me an idea of what is needed the most as far as music goes so I can make something to fill that role.


If you think that I have the skill necessary to make a track your happy with then I need a description of this track.

Yes... what is a game without exploding barrels?!?

I think the land mines would be a great idea, however I might make it so they are proximity detonated to increase combat effectiveness. Because the chances of an enemy walking over the exact part of the terrain you placed a land mine in are slim which is why modern militaries place hundreds. Placing hundreds would obviously be very tedious so I think placing fewer more effective mines would be a better choice from a gameplay perspective.

I posted MP3s instead of OGGs because I, and probably lots of other people, cant run OGGs outside of a game.

Yeah, I do think that the aliens should have a slightly different set of tactics basing more off of teamwork and specialization as opposed to human versatility.


I think if land mines were implemented that they would be more fitting as a human weapon but perhaps some sort of alien device that heals all surrounding aliens. Or what if aliens panicked more easily when separated from packs and their stats were raised slightly when in packs.

I once fought an ortnok that took 2 point blank riot shotgun blasts (flechette shells) and then 2 laser rifle shots.

Well, that sort of happens from time to time as it is. Flying to one destination your firebird can actually be intercepted and shot down by aliens mid flight... and it is very frustrating... I cried.  :'(


Building off what you said...

What if when your firebird is attacked and shotdown it crash lands and the remainder of your forces form the firebird have to fight a full harvester (or whatever shot you down) crew. Then, if you win you have to send a new firebird to pick up your soldiers... and of course you would have captured a harvester.  ;D

well... what would I be making though? Am I making some sort of alien tank? Or some sort of walker, large creature or what? I'm not that great with blender (know very very little) but I will certainly try to put some time into it if you tell me what needs to be done.

I'm a pretty successful player and I rarely use SR. I pretty much go close range until I get lasers then I'm a total laser whore. Even in the face of particle cannons due to their inferior accuracy. :D

Does anyone else get a little bored of always fighting ortnoks in late game? I think maybe the aliens should have some sort of answer to the UGVs besides ortnoks with cyborg bits on him. Just an idea. ;)

I have a considerable amount of free time on my hands usually so I can be relatively devoted to this project... AS LONG AS you make sure the UGVs have the CCCP paint option...


I'm not sure I made this clear in my original post but what I meant was for a map to have a few songs that play as opposed to 1 repeating.
