For the moment I have simply replaced mapfiles with a working map and will continue testing.

Good luck, devs!

You could try playing with (advanced) video settings first.

Advanced options seem to have no effect on the phenomenon (they still affected the visible parts of the map (e.g. the patch of grass around the starting zone) in a normal way).

I could try several combinations since I have a save file from just before the mission starts.

@H-Hour: I used the full install after the weight system was introduced, and then again today (22nd) thanks to the very thread you mentioned. No binaries only.

On the map "Mansion" anomalies as seen on the screenshots are displayed.

The same happens on the map "Urban periphery" (the map which is either a small ruin or a parkhouse), but only when the parkhouse is on the map.

All other maps I encountered were absolutely fine.

I use 2.5 dev version as of november 22nd, hard campaign, safegame carried over from a recent version.

Win 7 64bit, 8GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD6450, latest drivers.

Edit: And I just realised this is the wrong place for this topic, sorry.

Feature Requests / GUI and menu suggestions
« on: November 19, 2012, 04:58:11 pm »
I'd describe many of these as "unnecessary comfort":  ;)

Is it possible to show the current amount of availbale TUs in the equipment menu and how it changes after applying weight instead of the warning messages ("Not enough TUs available for: doing X") ?
Maybe putting a growing red bar over the speed bar or something similar.

In the equipment menu, would it be possible to display a health bar along with the soldiers' physical stats (similar to the "employees" menu when you hire staff)?

Is it possible to have the physical stats improvements displayed in some way somehwere else than just in the "Aircraft" - "Soldiers" submenu ? (which has ye olde bright green stat bars)

Is it possible to disable the mouse wheel for selling/buying when on the "Buy/Sell" screen? I reflexively try to scroll the list up and down via wheel, but I find my cursor accidentally hovering over the buy/sell buttons more often when not.
This is not a big problem now, since you can just sell/buy for the same price at the moment. But if you change the economy in the future, this might prove to be slightly counter-intuitive (since my puny brain expects mouse wheel == primarily for scrolling, not for gameplay affecting menu actions).

Could the "Item Cost" be renamed "Production Cost" or something like that in the "Production" menu? This might be unecessary when items won't be produced at market value in the future (ATM I thought it was conviniently showing the price at which I could sell the produced item, but it's just what needs to be paid for production).

In the options menu, something is wonky with the HUD options. It does not always show correctly which UI is used (alternative HUD when standard HUD is selected etc.). But after a restart it usually reverts to the correct selection.

Is it possible to display the amount of TUs left after giving a potential move order instead of showing how many TUs it will cost? So currently:    current COST [current TUs]    to just    [TUs left after move]
I don't mind subtracting to see if I still have left enough for firing a weapon after moving, but why not make the info available at one glance?

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / CTD when switching between bases
« on: November 19, 2012, 03:56:42 pm »
On the "Transfer" screen: When I click the arrow buttons on the left and right-hand side of the base title to switch between bases I get a ctd.

Edit: This ctd is not reliably reproducable.

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / Re: Weight penalties
« on: November 16, 2012, 07:50:54 pm »
You are using the binaries only nightly, aren't you? The equipment weights are in the scripts if you don't have the latest scripts the weights will be wrong (Previously only armours had weight, and I don't know where the values came form), the latest full installer should fix *that* problem.

Solved. Thanks a bunch.

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / Re: Weight penalties

Question: Is a reinstall of the game needed for the new weight system to work?

Because by upgrading via the nightly builds I got armor with a weight of 100 kg and weapons with a weight of 0 kg, which is probably not WAD (and causes my soldiers go naked into combat).

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / Re: Equipment disapears

Continued from the uploaded safe.

The same items disappeared (firebird landed, solderis have requip, click "euqip", item disappear). It's no gamebreaker, I'll buy replacements and check whether it happens again after the next mission.

Heh, great you looked into this. I guess it's not safegame compatible. Will report back when as soon as I have the time to start a new campaign.

Discussion / Re: Help us out: how many scientists do you have?
« on: November 06, 2012, 10:25:07 am »
Dev 2.5 ersion, hard campaign, June, 10 scientists, 1 lab. Didn't actually research anything beside some autopsies. Still use starting weapons because I like them, but begin to wonder how far I can go since I need to empty a SMG magazine at point blank range to kill a Taman in armor. Has been super fun so far.

Just began working on Plasma weapons. Second lab is just about to finish, plenty of scientists to recruit. Way more than I need. Some with workers, but I guess I don't have anything to produce yet...

I used my starting money and fundings to build extra bases for radar coverage and interceptor pads + a small garrison. Kept the nations super happy and the money rolling, but my research is way behind what other players probably have at this point. But that's just my approach, I like it a lot.

Bugs in stable version (2.5) / Re: Equipment disapears

Greetings everybody!

I want to report the same / a similar problem like Azrael:

I use the nightly build of November 1st  and upgraded on the 4th and 6th. The bug first occured on the 5th. Win 7 64bit, full campaign, hard dif, no other problems occured so far.

In the attached save, a firebird returns from a mission. After it has landed, the soldiers will still have all their equipment in their portrait (menu: aircraft, goto Firebird, goto tab: soldiers).

But when you click on "Equip soldiers" on the firebird, several items will have disappeared. They are neither in the soldiers' inventory nor in storage.

E.g. The first soldier, "Sylvie" does not lose anything, while three others will lose all their equipment and armor.

The bug is reliably reproducable. The disappearing items are consistently the same, as far as I can see (which is why I initially thought of a memory problem; I hired more soldiers and buyed more weapons just before it happened and then maybe "item230 to item248" are cut off from an array or something like that).

If the bug is just the expected result from the recent changes you did to the equipment system, please ignore this.  ;)
