Actually, nvm that issue .. I was using the first 2.4 dev version and after updating, it no longer crashes. The crash was one of those were the game just simply stops responding and has to be shut down in task manager or with a right click on the icon in the taskbar. After the update however, I could play the battle without a crash so for now, it's obviously resolved.

The game now crashed twice in a row after a battle ended for no particular reason that I could see. I saved right before the mission starts in the attached file.

Ah hell, forgot about editing this post. I managed to resolve the issue with a proper download of 2.4, played the game and love what I saw so far. Thanks for the welcome

Bah nvm me, I downloaded another installer and 2.4 now works for me. A gem of a game, both thumbs up. It's a tribute to the X-Com games, keep up the good work.

Discussion / Help a noob, please ^^

I couldn't find a suitable help topic so unfortunately my first post is a help request. First of all the game seems great, geoscope mode etc has quite some X-Com feel. So I went into the first battle mission but only one of my soldiers would disembark from the plane. I selected the others who were still inside and no matter where on the map I clicked they wouldn't budge. Of course I selected the guys at the ramp first btw. Naturally, the one guy I had in the field got soundly trashed by the aliens ^^ ... so some help is needed here, am I doing something wrong? Is this a problem with the game or something (I had 8 guys with me)?
